Can any1 at Mernda fill us in on the new coach?, is he bringing players?
an whats happend to last seasons coach?

new coach is Nick smith - has alot of experience - is a really good teacher of footy and as he still plays a little will add leadership on the ground.
nICK has been development coach at western jets , runs his own footy coaching business www.elitefooty.com , has played in four flags, coached at senior level with several clubs including keilor park, moonee valley and up in the riverina league.
Can he bring players ?
Mernda isn't a big dollar club and we all know dollars talk these days!
What we do know is mernda has a tremendous vibe and spirit
about it so its a fun place to be so not surprisingly that is attracting some players, whether they and we are any good - well there is only one measure !
No drama with the old coach - he got the new bloke to the club and is happy for him to take over - mernda 2009 - whatever it takes !

Heard on the Grape Vine that Parkside have lost a few players again just like last year.

Will they finally make the grade this year and win those extra 3 or 4 games to make finals?
Parkside can not afford to lose anyone. Will go down to div 3 anyway, lose players will be a chance of winning two wooden spoons in Div 2 to round 13 then last in Div 3.

Ahm......you can't win 2 wooden spoons in the same year.
The don't hand out premierships or wooden spoons after Round 13.

Steve Diver is the only player that won't be playing next year that i know of as he is travelling OS for 12 months.

If anything i would say that we have players coming in. Got Darren Gresham back (past BNF winner) and Michael Sabelberg back.

Parksides issue will be that some of its really good players are getting that little bit older and as we all know that makes it that little bit harder .. still harder to beat at home than most

Those players that you would be referring to, in Hockey, Wise, McCall x 2, Ware, I agree are getting older, but will still dominate in the next few years. However we do have other younger players such as Friel, Ross x 2, Gresham, Sabelberg, McLaren, King, Graeme and Lekkas that are becoming as dominate players as the above mentioned.

Sounds like parkside dominate every week.Had the worst twos we played last year but i have heard they had to be over 100 kilos to get a game while there ones are ok for a half then drop off and want to fight.
