Morang were a team really moving forward about 3 years ago. Probably one year to many for Ronnie and Budgen pinching players to Whittlesea maybe because they had enough of Ronnie certainly did not help. Except for Jerram who they reckon could only see $$$$. Is that right???

Now it is certainly a long road to get the club back on track. But with the young age of their players it is never to late. Could some key people pull their head in, be humble and go to those players and committee that left and ask them back and ask those players that stayed to pull their head in be happy their back and all unite, it could save them 10 years on rebuilding, if they ever can. (My source says one big bloke would need to go

so the young blokes wont be scared of getting belted).

FORGET EGO'S AND PUT THE CLUB FIRST IF YOU CAN'T DO THAT THEN JUST MAYBE YOU SHOULD MOVE ON - OR OTHERWISE THIRD DIVISION HERE WE COME "FOREVER".

Well that's straight from the heart! Good on ya it's a passionate game.
So where did some of the good people go??

Morang are just a terrible run club. Luffy signed. took there money(the tightarse that he is), and they were unable to pay to field a side in the 19s and some players that were owed alot of coin, hence why some have left to other clubs. Goodluck in div 3.

Toaster, you have crawled back out of your pathetic world of crap still talking rubbish, get your facts right otherwise dont waste time typing you loser.

Yeh i was surprised to see morang not putting in a 19's considering over the years thats where they have had most of there seniors come from, and considering the area developement!...It wasnt so long ago i remember South Morang being the quickest and had the youngest prospects going around?...Even falling just short in finals on some occasions,They were certanly the up and comers of the competition.what in the world has happened down there in the last few years?

Fair comment Jumping Joey, miss management is what has happened, time for change but some people need to step up instead of talking an complaining

Lets start with the President. By the way I am not knocking Jummy I think he is a hard worker and has been doing what he thought might have been the right thing but sometimes he may just need to be humble and accept he might have been wrong, particularly when it came to reappointing Ronnie

Moving Pic's, I agree to disagree with the recruiting statement, I recon your committee or your footy operation person, (if you have one) should keep an eye on the recruiting & forwarding phone calls or letters to assist your coaches.
Surely you do a follow up letter every season to the younger players??

No footy operations person at Morang this year, follow up letter always goe out. The Pres and the coaching crew wanted the recruiting side to themselves and did not involve the commitee, from what i know the committee is very small and most do no work at all , only a couple hold the place together which is a recipe for disaster.

Agree with you slasher25. the club has been a rabble for yonks, and it all starts with the President. How many Secretaries have they had in recent seasons - probably a new one each season!
Anyhow, on to more important matters, todays matches.
There are some season-defining matches coming up this weekend:
1. Premiership favourites Diamond Creek should be way to good for an average Parkside, who are ready to start their annual tumble down the ladder.
2. A desperate Epping should be able to easy account for Division 3 bound Panton Hill, who look like they have wasted all the money they splashed around pre-season.
3. In a who-cares preview of a Divison 3 rivalry, the Reservoir rabble may just get home against a discintegrating West Heidleberg, who will not last the season.
4. Two more teams likely to pay in Division 3 clash with the country-yokle Hurstbridge to get the points against the previously mentioned disfunctional South Morang, who also appear to have wasted money on players.
5. At feral park, which is applicable to at least one of the clubs playing there, premiership contender Macleod should be too slick for the Fitzroy All Stars.
6. In probbaly the most important match of the round, Lower Plenty will account for Watsonia with the loser almost certainly destined for Division 3 for this and next season.
7. In the Plenty Road grudge match it will be intersesting to see if the fighting words that the mushroom farm boys put here on BigFooty can be backed up on the field. They weren't last week and won't be again tomorrow against Whittlesea. Bugden to out-coach the opposition.
See you around the grounds today and tomorrow.

Today at Victoria park we saw a side of mainly small, stocky in many cases overweight Stars players display a great deal of talent & desire for the footy. The Stars just massacred Macleod in terms of centre clearances all day- in the third term it was incredible. Both Browns, Proctor , # 11 & a few others were the main contributors. Macleod were under pressure most of the day & were not allowed to use their massive height advantage.Without Watts, Lundberg & in the second half Cottier the Macleod backline was undermanned although Jezza Bennett was his usual desperate self. Reimers tried hard as did Wendt but the backline was peppered from the centre. Well done to the Stars, It will be interesting at the selection table next week for the Roos.
As for the braindead wackers who have nothing to contribute other than calling Macleod chokers- we were not the best side in 06 or 08 so both results were fair enough, also which sides are you associated with & where were they on the big day in September?

just seen that LL moose has a soft spot for Mernda, the biffo boys...playing the man and not the ball at Macleod last week was not the most intelligent of things to do. I thought they were actually better than that! who knows, they may wake up!

Todays loss to hurstbridge by morang is probably were they r right now. Their constant turnovers out of defence were punished severly by the bridges.Morang lost their leading goal kicker in the 1st 10 mins when he was red carded and that set the tone for the day, a few more yellows and another red card later to morang ended a disappointing day and they would struggle to challenge in D3 if they play like they did today. They had real crack in the 3rd and got the margin back to under 5 goals from a 10 goal marging but to many skill errors cost them. Their few young kids have a great attack at the ball and Daniel Heatley is a gem i reckon, proving once again the move away from the youth is going to be the death nail for the club.

did someone tell the macleod players it was a grand final today?

down at the creek things are flying along......

102 point win over the junkies at parkside who had a crack but could not quiet get the job done. Luke Jackson would have had 50 possesions and Nath Grimes slapped through half a dozen. Simon perryman still oozes class, tim cusack ran 40km, and Luke Simpson sat on more blokes heads than i have had hot dinners. Blooded another couple of younger players who performed well.

Probably a good indicator of how good the depth is at creek is the twos team which dismantled a previously undefeated paprkside by 160 odd points. There are blokes coming off the bench in the twos who were playing seniors at the end of last yr.

A team that gets mentioned far too much on here, south morang, the next to cop the wrath of the creek. toot toot.

no exuses for the macleod boys. were beaten by a more desperate side.
we had no one at the drop of the ball and were killed in the clearences all day. no exuse with who was in and out. it was 22 on 22 and we got our pants pulled down and i havent herd one player say anything else.
well done to fitzroy stars. prob ur biggest win since comming back into the comp.

From my understanding no-one got any extra money for leaving Morang and from what l have heard only this week that a lot of morang boys that have left have strong feelings for the club and would go back but one big man would have to go, they still remember girlfriends being fined for not going to functions even if you have no girlfriend, the club in general iis a good club with good people and will survive

Missed the game, were the bridges too good or did morang not play well, by the sounds they made costly errors. who got red carded? did that influence the game in any way?

Matt O'Rourke was red carded in the first 10 mins for charging( wasn't much in it i thought) and that did affect Morangs forward structure considering he has been their main target all year. Justin Bentley was red carded in the last after he kicked a goal and gave some back to some Hurstbridge piss heads who had been hanging it on him earlier, but of course hollywood (the ump) stuck his brown nose in and made himself feel important.
Morang made to many mistakes in the first half, especailly coming out of defence, Bridges would have kicked at least 8 goals from Morang's poor kicking out of defence, half not even under pressure. The ruck was a killer again with some 4 to 5 players having a go through out the day.
Morang did knuckle down in the second half and play some hard competitive footy and it back to 28 points but the damage was done in the first half when the margin blew out to 57 points.
Hurstbridge were clearly the better side on the day, cleaner, hungrier and made more of their opertunities.
For me it was morangs most disappointing game to date considering the impotance of the game from the D3 side of things and the fact the their apponent was a team of around the same Ilk over the last few years.
But there is always next week, Diamo at the lakes, Can't wait:eek:

It was a good game of footy today at the mushroom farm!...mernda winning by a bit over a goal, this forum has been riddled with posts about sides paying to much for players and thoses clubs are Lower,Panton hill, south Morang and i would even class my own side Whittlesea as overpaid.Today Even murray came to play and played well as did Decs,Snowy and quinno. For some of the coaches more EXPENSIVE! pets just simply are not good enough!Jinnety,Dyson,Gazza need to look at there envoloeps and really have a think am i worth these pineapples??..Or start earning it!..Jinnety had a good season last year and showed his toughness over the footy but this year has been out of form most of this season...disapointing!
As for Mernda well they got away with it today...Good game!
Im sure Bugden will throw the side around next week against H West.

Good day for footy, big crowd no rain and we won.
Mernda lead all day but could'nt put whittlesea away & won by 7 points in the end.
My betters player : Faz, Burger (8 goals), Drakesy,Doeven Eggy & Pearso Again.
Still need to work on our kicking to many turn overs.

Four wins from Five hard games I'm very happy:thumbsu:

The Magoo's had a easy win .

The under 19's went down by 1 point after the final siren, Not scoring anything in the 1st half of the game cost them in the end.

The noise coming out of the Sherrin Stand at Victoria Park was awesome, particularily in the second half...

I have never heard a din like it from both groups of supporters. The place had atmosphere for sure on Saturday, it was cooking...
