Geelong have just delisted Scott Simpson, who played as a forward alongside Grant and Everitt at the Stingrays. Does anyone know if he's worth a look? Seems strange he would be de-listed after only two years...

Could be worth a look at. I havent seen much of him but his stats look alright at VFL level. Kicked 8 against willy in a game last year and finished with 23 goals from 17 games. This year he only played 3 games before getting injured but managed 4 goals.

Adelaide Crows have a new logo. Not too sure what it reminds me of to be honest.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have asked for a Round 1 home game to celebrate Brad Johnson's 350th match.

I just received a random call from the Western Bulldogs telling me that I had won a $500 cash cheque simply for signing up as a member through the Victoria University program and upgraded to social club status.

After all the bad news I've received this week due to my broken wrist and now requiring surgery, this has lifted my spirits.

I've never needed any amunition to support this club, this has caught me offguard and we'll go straight back to the club with memberships and some new KooGa gear. :)

Well done wb_age!

Spend it well & hope your wrist gets better soon.

Here's one for you.........does anyone wish our cheer squad could come up with some better messages for the banner? It's a little embarrassing.

If I were to join the Cheersquad, for round one I would be going for a bit of double entendre tongue in cheek wishful thinking for 2010. Maybe something like;

"Reid, Williams, and Everitt vow to no longer play with Willy in 2010"

:D:D

That's a great story wb. :)

All the best with surgery for your wrist and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Pretty sure Barry's body is actually Picken's, from a guess anyway because I was looking at pickens earlier in the year and for some strange reason it rings a bell... Also as for the crows logo...

well...

I...

look if I actually say something I might get banned so I'll just stick with LOL! haha

Does anybody know when the fixture comes out?

Have a few random thoughts on the St Kilda final that I haven't shared.

Whilst the result was obviously heartbreaking, shattering and I won't be over it for a loooong time, and the umpiring absolutely disgraceful, I still remember vividly how at the game how exhilerating and exciting it was barracking for the club that night.

Does anyone agree?

I was sitting a predominantly Bulldogs area and the atmosphere we were generating was incredible. When we were on top in the first quarter we were so loud it was unbelievable.

When St Kilda came back and hit the front in the third quarter, none of us got worried and took a back seat just expecting the saints to run over us. Our supporters simply just got even louder. The players were fantastic all night but I felt they rode the wave of energy we have them by being so passionate and loud.

Remember when Gia kicked that fantastic goal to put us back in front and the huge roar from our section, people jumping up and down and going bananas.

There were also moments in the game that were really great and where I truly believed we were going to the Grand Final.

Amidst the pain and the anger about that night, I still remember all of this and know that whilst it hurts like hell, that night is one of many reasons I'm proud to support the club.

Good post.

I haven't shared these thoughts with anyone.

First of all...
A few of my family members and friends were told I was going to do it...

All week leading up to the game I was thinking of how awesome it would be to win. To win a Prelim would be one thing, but to do it as an underdog would be something else. I was thinking of what I would do if the final siren sounded (or we had somehow had the game sewn up during the last quater)... and this is what I was going to do.

I was going to ask a young Saints supporter if I could borrow their scarf. I was then going to take the scarf with me down to the fence where the Bulldogs cheersquad was. I was going to stand on the fence, wrap the Saints scarf around my neck, and pull on it tight so it appeared I was choking myself.

During the last quarter when we were in front, I was looking around constantly, to see who I could ask to lend a scarf from. I was still worried that our lead may surrender, but when we were in front I thought we were going to win. At least we we lost, I didn't have to worry about borrowing a scarf.

I handled the loss with dignity and pride. I was very happy with our performance. We played better, just couldn't kick the crucial goals. A few other things went against us, but I like to think we cost ourselves the game by not kicking straight. If I think of other reasons why we lost, it becomes so much more frustrating that I feel like smashing the ground Rohan Smith style, except with my forehead instead of my fist.

I just stood there and took the loss like a man. I looked at how hurt the players were by the loss, and it made me happy to see they hurt so much. A case of unfinished business and all I could do is realise how awesome we played and how we will give it another crack next year.

As I looked around, I saw so many Bulldogs fans crying. Sure, the loss hurt so much, but go home and cry yourself to sleep. Don't let the opposition supporters see that you're hurt.

Even though we have a buck fifty left in the salary cap any chance of picking
up Ball,Macdonald,Roe,Bradshaw,Shirley,Edwards,Simpson and Bentick?

Thoughts?
