Must say I and a lot of other people missed the Footy Record. With a lot of new players and new numbers it was hard to identify players and even harder to identify opposition players. In the future I hope home sides can provide a list of players and numbers for both teams each week.

Sunday morning show now on Sen plus and not on conventional radio, or at least I cant find it

I was there that day. I still remember people falling from the stand, horrific. Good to see them kicked out. I knew Des from footy and cricket. Wouldn't have given two cents for his brother. They should never have been allowed in the competition. Their supporters were mostly drunken thugs and crooks and their players weren't any better.

Was there also. The East Hawthorn mob had planned it. It wasn’t just a blue that erupted. A copper mate (not in uniform) of my Dad was targeted by them as were a few others. Never seen anything like it. I think East Hawthorn had been previously expelled from the SESFL or Fed league so why the EDFL admitted them in 1970 is beyond me.

I think they were first chucked out of the ESFL, went to the Metropolitan Football League, got chucked out of there and went into the EDFL.
With a track record like that you wonder why they were allowed in.
If a few of the EDFL Admin had gone to their ground to see their drunken supporters stream across from the White Horse Hotel and start the abuse and threats to players, supporters and officials of the visiting team, they might have understood what sort of a club they were. There were some good people there like Des Burns, but the majority of them were duds

Well, I enjoyed mine.
While that was happening they showed Gary Ablett getting in trouble again. It's like he's gone bad. Maybe he's been watching too much WWE.

Go Ash Barty.
Likely to be our first Grand Slam winner since 2011. Take note BB, (if you are looking) . Better than s Stosur.

He would be a monty to get a job as an assistant next year if he wants one. If he is going to sit out next season, the club should offer him a job for the year as their full time football manager and coaching mentor.

I watched one of the best sports movies I have ever seen on the weekend called "The Edge". The rise and fall of the English Test Team under Andy Flower. After watching it, it is plain that only coaches who have a emotional connection and really care for their players are able to get high performance levels from them for an extended period. David Saker has the last word in the movie and sums up very accurately why any of us play team sports. A great lead up to the Ashes next week. You can get the DVD online or if you have Amazon Prime it is available there. You could join for free for a month and watch it there. Great movie.
