Is there a Video? :cool::):)
Gilligans is a truly nuts place, anything goes, footy trips and netball trips galore. A mate at templestowe sadly didn't attend the trip but advised clubs trying to keep it under wraps. Judging by the pic they got their ass kicked lol

Just read Herald suns write-up about Surrey Parks new recruits, heard rumours they may have more coming. Could they be donvales biggest challenger in div 3 this season?

Their junior program and (u19s) always has been a quality set up, now they've stopped them getting poached by the bigger clubs We could see them rise through the divisions

Some good pick ups but they would need a bit more to compete with Donvale. No one got anywhere near them in the 2nd half of the year realistically.

I think the pick ups should see them really competitive for finals in div 3.

I don't have access to the article. Who did they report as Surrey's pick ups?

I heard somewhere that Donvale had a few retire after the GF. Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

Plenty of information on Surrey Park,s FB page.To name a couple Jake Summers,Lachie Summers and Bede Briscomb who I think are ex SP players returning to the club.

Decent pick up by warrandyte, looking to bounce back after a bit of a off year. Played plenty of u19s looking to step it up another level

As per Outer East thread - Joel Perry at the Basin and Russ Cowan at Upper Gully.

Limbach? Perry?

Did somebody leave the door unlocked at the old folks home?

Limbach is coming to Div 3. I think as a key forward it should be ok. But he did get dropped from templestowe which is only 1 division above.

Perry playing Div2 I'm not sure. Big difference between Outer East Div 2 and EFNL Div2.

Plenty of clubs have their old stalwarts but guys of this age being actively recruited by new clubs? Jeez, you’re hardly going anything other than a very very short term solution.

Still, I guess they’ll probably prove me wrong.

Both might just sit in the square. Warrandyte has big bucket hands Phillips too, not a lot of teams have enough to cover both of them. Both are also coaching?

It would appear to be a matter of time before AFL reserves becomes a reality.

So what becomes of the VFL?

I cannot see a full AFL reserves comp retaining the Vic stand-alone clubs.

What becomes of them?

I’d assume Box Hill, Casey and Sandringham would remain in their alignments and hence play in the AFL reserves.

But Port, Willy, Coburg, Bullants, Frankston?

If the AFL Reserves become a reality, the AFL may do something really extreme and have Reserves Games before the Seniors.

Can the stand-alone clubs, make local footy stronger and get the afl to invest more into grassroots footy.

It's a big issue

The 5 clubs give 100+ non-AFL listed players a game every week. What happens to them? Straight back to local footy? No more rep footy?

How the hell would you integrate those clubs back into local footy? Particularly the likes of Port and Willy... which league is going to vote to admit them? They have huge revenue bases and would smash everybody.

There was some talk a while back of an U23 state league. Does that become a reality and is that where they go? Aligned with NAB League clubs.

The day of reckoning might be coming for these clubs.

One thing you can be sure of, they'll set it up to best suit the AFL and everybody else will get squeezed.
