Actually it was relevant as it’s the difference between a knock on in play and 7 tackle set, if it touched the Panther then it shouldn’t be a 7 tackle set. Replay definitely showed contact with both players.

That is basically the difference. Storm could have kicked the penalty 2 pointer to make it 14-14 if it was 12-14. Regardless of the extra 6 given to Panthers off a phantom call to score Panthers 1st try they would still be tied

You're too used to AFL commentary. Where fools like Brian Taylor blither on about some irrelevant thing that happened in the first minute of the game. That he probably miscalled anyway.
These guys often talk about contentious moments in other contests. Stands out that they are so quiet about such a huge moment in the game.
 
I would love to know why the ref wasn’t calling 6 again when Melbourne were close to the try line and Penrith clearly coming off the line before the play of the ball constantly.
