Hope none of your kids break a fingernail today. That would be devastating.

Put your money where your mouth is and show us how tough you are by pulling out one of your own nails.
Too soft? Fair enough.

Complaining that football is becoming soft doesn't make weaklings like you look tough.

If you'd been able to mix it at the elite level you may have some credability, but you're not able to mix it with real men and a bit of bravado doesn't change that.

POQ. Its people like you who are ruining what used to be a tough sport. Do you close your eyes everytime there is a contest? Do you put your hand over little johnnys eyes everytime there is a contest?

Be careful tonight, I think there's a couple of shows on tele that aren't rated "G'.

Mate, anyone who thinks footy is soft should (a) play a game or (b) go to either of the 2 finals I have been to this year (WC v Sydney & Adelaide).

The reason people hit people behind play in the past and got away with it was there were buggar all camera's.

Hall, without provocation, hit a bloke who wasn't looking at him. He caused that player to be taken out of that play - gaining an advantage from an uncontested mark and goal. Same player then left the filed (and puked according to Saints assistant coach Mat Rendell on "Saturday Central"). MacGuire then had to be eased back through the forward line until he regained his composure - in that time the Swans kicked 3 goals. Hall, as a trained boxer, knew where to hit him to cause maximum distress.

When have players been caught on camera, hitting a player who wasn't looking at them, away from the play without provocation and got away with it?

I personally hope that Hall plays on Saturday, because he is a great player and deserves a GF. If he doesn't, he has no-one to blame but himself.

90 pound weaklings complaining that footy is too soft have probably been around for 100 years.

I don't see how cowardly acts make the game tougher. Although I can understand that weaklings like you want to seem tough and rough by making ridiculous uninformed comments.

I love the contest. I love the courage of players backing into packs etc.
Cowardly acts are for weaklings who want to look tough.

By your comments you prove to all reading that you are a cowardly little boy who has never been and never will be as tough as the weakest AFL player.

Now run along. I hear your mummy calling.

Regardless of whether it was 'soft' or not, you surely can't advocate an ex (kick?) boxer punching a bloke in the guts 40 metres off play? Just becuase it didn't do a huge amount of damage doesn't change the fact that it was an illegal play.

It was in play, as he took the next kick, thats in play, he wasn't at the other end of the ground.

Replay after replay, slo mo after slo.Changes exactly how things are percieved, in a split second.A lot worse happens in every darn game.
Archer does it 2 times and doesn't get charged.

I live in country Qld, believe me the only reason people are talking about AFL us because they think we are soft anyways and now this.

Mate, people in country Qld vote for blokes like Barnaby Joyce - so really who gives a s**t what they say about anything (including AFL)?

The NRL is a joke and if its only advantage over AFL is that you can belt a bloke behind play and the moronic supporters get all excited and no-one cares then good luck to it and said supporters......

Queensland rednecks are the most gutless of all Australians. And totally reliant on Victorian and NSW taxpayers for their roads, schools, hospitals, pensions etc. etc.

Queensland rednecks love to kick their fellow Australians while they are down which is why they are famed for being racist misogynists.

Tax paying Queenslanders (ie southern Queenslanders) are switching onto AFL as demonstrated by participation and TV ratings.

You and your mates should go back to getting your thrills out of watching children suffer in detention centres and kicking into Aboriginies, single mothers or anyone else doing it tough.

A lowering of interest in the 2 Northern States, means a lowering in the media rights.
Means less money for all AFL clubs.

mmm..get it yet.

I think were getting a bit lost in the plot here.

Do we really care at what a group of people who despise our game in the first place are saying? A fella broke the rules, got caught out and has been offered a suspension. If someone can't make rational sense of this, good luck to them, I really don't mind.

So the same rules apply to everyone, we are not going to bend over and let you play barry because he is from NSW.... just because you ppl think its soft compared to thugby means nothing to us, AFL is a pro sport, the biggest in Australia, we would rather watch skill than bangers and mash, no room for weak behind the play thuggery, our game left that behind over a decade ago, NRL needs thuggery because thats all the game has to offer spectators, heckin' sad...

Not to mention QLD has just won 3flags, dont tell me your all bandwagoners..

The Northern Queenslanders and Sydney bandwagoners can "rub together" whatever they feel like - if you hit someone in the stomach forty metres behind play you get suspended, simple as that. Anybody who'd like to "leave" AFL support because of that, well, let me hold the door open for you.
