I'm actually hoping Port or the Crows finish bottom of the ladder and have pick 1 anyway! Bloody South Australians.
So am I! It would be priceless if Port got Gibbs and I can just picture the reaction of Crows' fans.:D

Gibbs may be a gun who's already playing senior footy in the SANFL, but how rare is to have a 6'5" KPP who at just 17 looks like he'll be able to play both ends.:)

And catches win matches as the Swans' KPPs proved against the league's best midfield.;)

Which past or present player could Hansen be likened to?

Could you say he's a more mobile Leigh Colbert/Polak in terms of contested marking ability?
In my ignorance I'm calling him Swan McKay who played at both ends.
Cypher....what happened to the user notes?
I deleted them. But feel free to add more!
BTW.....we need to trade for another first rounder.....Jetta with our first pick then Luenberger with the other first rounder
I also hope we can land another first round pick to nab Leuenberger;), but is the 178 cm tall Jetta that good?:)

Same height as Murphy and Blackwell.

When there are gun talls such as Hansen, Gumbleton, Riewoldt, Thorp, Sellar, etc available next year, they better be confident Hartlett, Bower, etc. are up to it if we choose Jetta.

Is Jetta a possible number 1 pick?:(

Murphy was the first 178 cm player to be drafted at pick one, but I saw a player flash into play to kick a great running goal in the WAFL's seniors on ABC2 this year. ;)

will any club be stupid enough to trade there first round pick next season?
Only North.;)

If it's the last role of the dice for a club's flag chances and a matchwinner becomes available, who wouldn't trade a first round pick for a flag?

I doubt Hawthorn would have traded pick 18 for Ted Richards and Carlton certainly wouldn't trade pick 20 for Richie Cole.

JETTA is good enough to go number 1 but any club would be stupid to look past Gumbleton. gumby is better than josh kennedy and franklin and ryder and bower and mitch clarke IMO

Sellar is a freak and keeps getting better. Awesome footy brain competes hard, can play anywhere with serious effect. Awesome in ruck and CHF and wing. Very capable utility and surely will be top 3. I dont think he will go above Gibbs, pretty much noone will unless someone really steps up from now till draft time.

This will happen and could even be a very good ploy.

With a first round draft pick on the table clubs will be falling over each other to get it which should lead to a very good player being traded. This would result in instant short term gain for the club trading away the first round draft pick. It may result in a long term gain for the club gianing the draft pick.

Hawthorn for example has a number of kids and may find trading pick no 3 for an established CHB/FB to help with there backline more beneficial than picking who may be another star.

I cant agree at all, you can have scarlett and I will have tredrea........It is a lot harder to mark the ball than punch it.

I still agree with you in that full backs are ignored in the drafting process (and they shoulnt be) but this is probably because history says most full backs were forwards that couldn't quite make it as a key forward. I put Kelleher and Obst in this catagory.

Kelleher kicked 42 goals for Eastern in half a season on the forward line, was then placed at full back for Vic Metro where he slaughtered Jay Neagle and Mitchell Clark. Due to injuries to KPP on Eastern's backline, he was then used to fill the void for the second half of the season, which he did very well. There is little doubt that he would have won the goal kicking in the TAC Cup had he been able to play the full season on the forward line. Do you still think that he couldn't quite make it as a key forward? Note also: a good percentage of his goals were kicked from outside the 50m arc.
