Not sure if it’s been mentioned or not but Darley signed on at Melton South as Assistant Coach.

Do your research boys. Played one game for South due a long weekend when he also played for Raiders 2 days prior. From all reports was one of Raiders better players this season and was very well liked at South during his one off game. Oh and he had 53 touches in that game. So can guarantee you he gave his all.
My apologies turbs, I thought darley, gartlett and phillips played a few games for both clubs

Garlett played a couple on loan. Phillips signed and played only 1 and got injured prior to 1/2 time and that was it. Darley played 1 over that long weekend with Garlett, Kantilla, Bennell but with approval from raiders. He was next level really.

Did some research on this Darley fella.
Every team he has played for since he left VFL has been terrible. Except for Point Cook which lost the grand final to Werribee Districts. Played in 3 finals that year and didn’t feature in the best once. Would be the highest level he’s competed at since 2018.
Hopefully he sticks it out with Melton South next year who didn’t win a match this season and turns them around a bit. Or, take the next offer and end up at Modewarre in the AFL Barwon in 2026

Absolutely no idea who he is. Players that play at a new club every year to fill their pockets (presumably) annoy me a bit though.
Even more so when the clubs are battling clubs that sign these players with the hope that their fortunes are going to turn around by getting a no doubt talented player into their club.
Clubs have to be extra cautious these days with recruiting. It’s one thing finding a talented footballer but it’s equally important to find a player who is dedicated and committed to the challenge ahead.
Surely 7 clubs in 6 years comes with some sort of points penalty?

Believe he had told Cairns City he was playing for them last season too, then played for Raiders and Melton South. He jumps around a lot, walked away as coach from Leeton-Whitton suddenly and did the same at North Shore and Geelong Ammos. Don't know anything about him as a person but wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole based on that history.
I remembered reading about him leaving a club as coach suddenly so googled it to see which club, turns out it was at least 3 clubs.
Horse didn’t want a bar of the Cox succession plan, maybe he should have a look at what happened when Darryn handed the reigns to young Sam. Wouldn’t be surprised if Daz has him in the backseat through the season. I’ll be giving John a call, doesn’t hurt to ask the question, a coffee on the house usually gets the ball rolling.
Heard the entire town were willing to speed the process up.
