Why aren't games scheduled on a Sunday?

Everyone is protecting their own patch and ignoring the potential bigger picture.

Wahgunyah, Rutherglen and CDHBU could play on a Sunday when their games are at home and give CR a chance to build a supporter base which they'll need when Cresswell leaves in two years and half the players exit too. Surely those three clubs wouldn't lose supporters, they might even gain some, and players too.

Why can't O&M games be scheduled on a Sunday in addition to the odd holiday weekend to maybe give other big games in a different league a go at drawing a bigger crowd?

Because players and more importantly the volunteers who make footy clubs work do. It want Sunday footy.

They are happy to do their thing on Saturday and those who like a few beers can have a few…players can recover…before having to front up to work on Monday.

I know a few clubs in town have gone the reverse. They have integrated their juniors into a Saturday

Wasn’t it Yarrawonga with the Gather Round idea? If so did hear a whisper the rumoured format of “seniors only” didn’t suit some clubs sounded out

If you have the resources to make it happen- what a recruiting tool it would be to showcase your ground, facilities etc. Also allows clubs to scout perspective recruits in your own back yard
