Has been happening for years. Where’s our man Dave Sinclair now? Won’t do anything unless the club comes forward and says we’ve made a mistake. Pointless the cap, everyone knows it. Didn’t all Rovers players play round seventeen last year “for free” so they stayed under the cap?

Does turn afew heads when you mention R17 "Cash Round" in the right company. Rovers people hate that it's common knowledge

Where do Murray Magpies find a 160k job
NFI.

The story I heard was a $200,000 job with a mining company, no idea of any connection to make that happen. Then there was $2500 a game, getting it to $240,000+.

I have zero faith in it being 100% correct, but the story in the paper of Cumberland considering playing for MM doesn’t really add up unless you put a ridiculous offer in the picture.

I think it was a job in the tunnels in Melbourne through possibly the coaches in law. Let’s be honest though, he was never playing for MM. I’m sure at least a couple of O&M clubs would have had their hats in the ring

Is there any anyone still a chance to land some late recruits? I’m hearing Corowa have some NTFL guys to announce.
Really? Does anyone know what the breakdown is of senior players (those who will regularly play in the 2pm game) living locally and training every week at Corowa versus the FIFO type? And does that have an impact, create team cohesion, harmony, or doesn't it matter any more?

It matters, you can't have in a top line comp no cohesion, you'll be found out fast

Albury had a lot of travellers last season and just never seemed to click.
Travellers are okay as long as they’ve previously played for the club.

All CR’s recruits are there for is the money and probably being coached by Cresswell, and maybe the experience of the next two years, there will be excitement.

Once the game is done these blokes will probably head straight home.

Once Cresswell leaves in a couple of years so will all his recruits.

Disagree…my home club up near Swan Hill has many travellers who have had nothing to do with the club previously….good players and even better people. They were made to feel welcome and genuinely appreciated for the effort they put in for travelling and providing joy to the local community. Most of the travelling players have fallen in love with the club and are returning again and again and bringing friends

Yep agree, but the travellers need to buy in, you need a good local core of players too that build on non negotiables in games so the travellers do the same. Cresswell sides are always competitive though, he's not going to tolerate guys giving up in the third quarter for example or pick and choose contests
