Bart's failures in the Cup yesterday only makes me more confident that Faint Perfume will bolt in tomorrow. She is the biggest certainty there will be all week (and is priced accordingly). Should be a criminal investigation if she goes down.

If she happens to break down during the race Melito is probably the won that can win it on class rather than stamina.

Weight never comes into the Oaks, as all horses are on set weights.

I know some horses may be better off against opponent from last start, but when they go to the gates tomorrow, they all will have the same weight, so the best horse on the day over 2500m will win.

The distance may be a problem, weight won't be.

yeah what i mean is gains 2kg on Melito, which is who i went for ($16). Forgot to add that in. Last time they were equal weights, granted it was only 1600m, Melito pipped her.

Ok i've had a good think about the Oaks. Faint Perfume is a good horse, and could very well win but i'm not going to take the $1.70 on her.

I actually think Well Rounded will have a massive chance, and i'll be having some on her e/w.

Will have a tri, box up Well Rounded, Faint Perfume, Melito, Miss With Attitude, Savsbelle and Valdemoro.

Selections for Oaks day

R1 - Sea Skye - exciting backmarker swooper finds the right track to show his ability. Flying this prep.

R2 - Very Discreet - GUN from Adelaide. Quite excited to see it come over. I like Impressive Eagle but doesn't win enough - Very Discreet does.

R3 - Devoirs - promising one down from Sydney, extra trip looks in its favour.

R4 - Pretty - has only just won her maiden but she will constantly improve and it doesn't look too hard a race.

R5 - Boogaloo - again the most promising type in a fairly average kind of race.

R6 - Faint Perfume - Valdemoro - Well Rounded - Melito
The fav looks to have an extra gear and stepping up in distance doesnt appear to be an issue. Oaks winners are generally just the best horse in the race anyway even if they cant quite stay.
Valdemoro is made for these Oaks races and this is her chance to reach the heights of her uncle - Elvstroem. Well Rounded will love this trip and is GREAT value as a blow out chance. Melito to not quite get the trip.

R7 - Don Jose - he simply needs this extra distance to turn the tables on King Diamond. Will run a cracker. Sydney horse the worry.

R8 - Keano - I think he's turned the corner, but always a risk the way he finds trouble. Has the talent, on the home track I think he will just get there.

R9 - Red Hustler - another big burst finisher who I have been hanging out to see race at Flemington in town. On the up.

What are peoples thoughts on Happy Glen in race 8? Less than a length behind First Command and Turffontein last start for 3rd with Eagle Falls finishing 4th, Eagle Falls won a better race than this on Saturday, to me looks well placed!
At 10 bucks probably going to be one of my only bets for the day!
