Melbourne are losing Ward and Walsh, they won't want O'Bree.

TJ on talent is worth the equivilant of a Judd
TJ on performance is worth considerably left
See the thing with this is, when you look at Judd at his full, say against brisbane at the gabba last year, then look at TJ, say he's spurts againts ess in the final this year, Judd comes up way ahead. Judd will be a champion of the game, Tj will be a decent player.

Obree can accumulate possessions i.e against port this year 38 i think it was, now i know he lacks consistancy and pace and i know he wont win a brownlow like t.j will, but i reckon we could flog him off with a pick 2 carlton, say for a player like karl norman Pagan has a nack of getting the best out of his players , or even richmond they love our rejects i.e clinton king, aaron james

i wouldnt be at all suprised if mcgough ends up at richmond. Norman for O.bree? and versatile tall quality defender, for a run of the mill, 2nd rate, mid paced, mid to low skilled midfielder? no way. norman is a much better prospect for carlton. they are going to build their future defence around thornton, norman and teague.

if tj can go through a whole season without a considerably ijury he will definately win the brownlow as he is clearly level with judd f not better than him in all parts of the game

Obree, while not in the league of top class midfielders, can still play a role for melb. averaged 17 disposals a game, which when considered with the fact that he often is on the bench, or playing a hf role.
Talkign of potential, well he's proven what he can be against the best this year. VS port
26 kicks, 12 handballs, 8 marks, 1 goal.
Not as if he's a dud.

true, its probably a little harsh on him, but i just dont see him being able to improve many sides. he would be a forth round pick or a late 3rd round pick i would believe - i dont think i would be to happy if my club parted with a pick between 20-35 on o'bree.

lol i dont really think t.j is any good...seen him a fair bit and hes overrated, i think it was last year ( if my memory serves me correctly) he had his best year and that wasnt anywhere near the class of judd. imho t.j is overated and collingwood would be stupid 2 chase him with our first pick, if we could get him for some dodgy trade such as obree and a pick he'd be a handy pick up, but won't ever be anything spectatcular. I think most people rate him because he was a number 1 pick

tj will neva b anywhere near as good as judd, thats just silly.
But still get tj 2 essendon thats just what we need a pacy outside player with gr8 skills, melbourne can have bolton 2 fix up there key position problems haha

Tj, to me is really simular to Didak, not in their playing roles but their talent. Both can leave you in awe as they play awsome, but the next three games they play ordinary. I'd consider pick 7 for him, unless somehow MM thinks one of the class midfielders, tambling, deledio etc will get through.
A fresh start might give him new confidence, where he's no longer the failed no 1 pick.

Ill give you obree and an early 2nd round pick. Obrees skills may be average but he gets the ball alot, he is an in-and-under midfilder somthing melbourne is lacking.

IF melb wanted, you could switch Mc gough with Obree, he's got the great clearance and a football head, but lacks athletic and kicking skills.

I would be afraid to lose TJ to another club just because i feel that he would excel and mould himslef into one of the top players of the competition. At the moment he is the most dissapointing player in the AFL without a doubt. If he stays at Melbourne he will be good but not great.

i dont think tj is 1 of the most disapointng in the afl when he is needed he stands up (finals against essendon) he just nneds to be used in the right way and melbourne is not doin that.

Travis Johnstone is not worth a top 10 draft pick.

realistically is true value is high teens to early 20's on what he has delivered since his debut in 1998

career highlights: 3rd in 2002 B&F, 1998 Rising Star Nomination, 2000 GF ....that's it !!!

Shane O'Bree is worth a high second or third round pick, nothing more.

career highlights: 1999 Rising Star Nomination, 2002-03 GF

not very encouraging, even Danoz-Direct would struggle talking up these two as sellable commodities.

can we please stop copmparing tj and o'bree
if comparing tj with ne1 it has to b with the greats of fotty like harvs or hird

This is true. TJ has the talent - and by that the ability to find space, get the ball and use it well - to be one of the very best going around. His application is poor (mostly) and his body is not particularly strong. He needs a change of scenery if he's ever going to forfill his potential.

His game against Adelaide in 2002 SF, and against St.K midseason 2003 showed what he can do. He just won't do it consistantly at Melbourne.

Trav (refraining from using TJ... getting repetitive) is a nightmare for us. Talent vs Trade ability isn't a good matchup. He has the *potential* (gulp how many times have I said that) of anything. He could win a game off his own boot... even a final or GF. Yet he goes missing (as someone stated earlier) far too often and is often exposed for a lack of respect for his opponent. Mind you it works both ways, he often exposes opposition players in devastating fashion. There is only one option for us and that is to do our absolute best to keep him as no club will give us what he's worth (and rightly so).

TJ sure is.

Best current bonghead footballer.

if u actually knew anyhyitng abouty tj you owuld know that up until year 9 he was the perfect student
he only became the "badboy student" that year and was like that for about 1.5 years and was then drafted

hahaha
do u think the most skilled player in the afl would waste his time on this site?
