I can't reveal my source, but I have strong mail that Facebook is going to be traded to Twitter, along with an exchange of likes. Deal should be done before notifications are finalised. Only sticking point could be that Facebook wants more followers. Stay tuned.

I know where your getting this stuff from and dont try and deny it.

From what i've been told out of the club, it'll be for a throwaway pick, bit like how Collingwood told Tom Young that they would trade him for more opportunity elsewhere, given they couldn't garuntee that he'd have an impact on 2013.

Didn't we use the draft pick we got for Tom Young to get Jordan Russell?

(Yeah, like you said, "throwaway pick" :) )

I'd say Didak still has a lot to offer a club, which is just my own personal opinion.

Yeah, definitely agree there. He'll have the X-factor to inspire and give confidence to the kids around him.

He'll also be a good name to help promote the game up here in Sydney. Sure, he's not a Buddy or a Del Piero - but he's a bigger name than anybody on their list today and he comes real cheap.

Hope the rumours are true re Didak - though it would be mega weird watching him run around in a GWS rig surrounded by kids.

I still love watching him play, his skills are still sublime and I do feel he'd teach some of those kids a fair bit of just good footy nous.

Shame his injuries just took the edge off him the last few years.

But the smother and right foot hoist will live in my soul forever ...

GWS motto - sign up any old over the hill vet we can get?

Josh Hunt? Daniel Cross? Didak?

who's the next in line?
Luke Power, Dean Brogan, Chad Cornes, Setanta o'Hailpin?? Oh, they've already had these guys.

They need a ruckman don't they. Darren Jolly? They also need a crumbing forward. Andy Krak??

Collingwood trade news in tomorrow's Age newspaper:

Collingwood and Greater Western Sydney met for the first time to discuss a trade of Heath Shaw to the Giants with the Magpies intent on a straight swap of players and the Giants wanting to switch their pick 19 for Collingwood's 11 to sweeten the deal.

Collingwood has rejected that claim.

The Magpies are also believed to be close to trading pick 27 to West Coast in order to swap their pick 10 for the Eagles' pick 6 and pick 40.

The Magpies would then likely trade on 40 to the Swans for Jesse White and Tony Armstrong.

Love it but if worst comes to worst, Shaw and 40 to GWS and 45 to Sydney. Jonno94 will like this.

No bullshit in Emma Quayle articles, the only reporter who thinks with solid logic.

This trade has straight swap written all over it. Or, it should have. The Giants need Shaw. They need him because they need players to want to play for their club, because they need to win some games, because they have put out a press release trumpeting his decision to play for them next year.

Sounds good. :thumbsu:
You reckon one of Aish or Scharenberg will drop to pick 6?

Wow, so interesting little snippet from the AFL website today. Pick 40 for a combination of White and Armstrong, no matter how useless they are - is a steal considering how shallow the draft is on elite talent.

"Sydney Swans defender Tony Armstrong and Jesse White could be traded to Collingwood as part of a three-team trade involving West Coast. The Magpies are reportedly close to offloading picks 10 and 27 to the Eagles in exchange for picks six and 40. The latter draft pick, 40, would then be sent to the Harbour City for Armstrong and White."

Will try and confirm as I have been told that Armstong is a definate.

Can someone tell me what is so bad about Tony Armstrong. I've looked at his highlights and his stats and he seems to be quite a solid player.

At pick 40 with white thrown in.. Honestly how can you go wrong.

I dare say that he'd been given opportunity to play off half back with us, given Shaw has gone and Toovey will have a delayed start to the season (assuming). Given his strengths are his speed, excelleration, and he does have a knack of hitting up targets well, then i'd say thats more than enough to work with. He can't be as useless as Jordan Russel, nor that much of a liability, either!

Given a few spots will be open on that back flank, and guys like Seedo, Sweeps, Bob, Sincs and Ramma all pushing for consistent game time (Bob has more than held his own in defence), then Armstrong probably adds another level to that depth in a position we're developing.

Ridiculous, not sure if i like that or not. GWS were hellbent on keeping him, Richmond supporters would be pissed off given how badly they wanted him last year. Que Danog rage!

Apparently melbourne have also got pick 9 as part of the deal... not a bad trade for them !

I've been hearing Tyson really wanted to come back to melbourne for a while now

apparently GWS also got some mid range picks from this trade from melbourne, which i think is very interesting because they don't need them at all.

So my take on this is they wanted a mid range pick to throw into the adams - shaw deal which we would then use to trade to Sydney for White/Armstong whilst also retaining pick 27 to trade to WCE...

getting very complicated isn't it :D

The good news is i think this will start the ball rolling, get excited pies fans :D
