I'll pick Bergman. With that news I've moved Campbell to Berry, O'Neill to Bergman and Serong (piglet) to Titch (fully grown pig).
I'm looking at a similar move though thoughts on the the below?

Hind/O'Neill & Drew vs Bergman/Warner & Serong?

Berry if you don't have him

Got him. Currently got gulden, Powell and Downie on field with Berry and Scott pine. Would you play Berry and get Lazzaro or Jordon? Or is there another?
I could alternatively swing Brodie into the guts and go Downie to Bergman and either play Rowe or Bergman?

Am i the only one to get conned into sier. Surely he gets dropped after that pathetic performance. Captain macrae and libba helped ease the pain thankfully .

Had him in 10 minutes b4 bounce as an alternative to Green but was reading the Collingwood boards and they didn't seem keen on him at all so I got him back out. Just don't think he's got the footy sense to accumulate.

Rookie options getting tricky with Downie out.

Not sure whether to field Guldan or Berry.. and whichever one I dont field I'm not sure whether to even take them or not. (lot of coin sitting on the bench..)

Other than Highmore at 182K, my entire bench is made up of 170K rookies.

I have Gulden on field, but no Berry at this point.

Gawn as VC, Zerret as C. Max will need to go pretty large for me to move a non-playing rookie into the team.

Didn't see last night's game, but someone earlier commented that Grundy had a mare... was it him just having an off night, or was it something else that killed his score? He lost 4 points after the game had finished...

Going all out for cash gen this year.

12 keeper premos that I don't want to touch (barring injuries)

18 rookies with 10 on field.

Rookie ruck line.

I'll be chasing BE's for the first 6-7 rounds and hopefully only trading rookies in and out.

On grundy, he just couldn't get near it. In my eyes, he just had a shocker against Stef (mainly) who he's never fared well against. Those with Grundy probably shouldn't be panicking just yet considering he's got a terrible record against Stef. If this is a bad game for Grundy, then you take 85 every day of the week.

Should we be worried caleb serong is listed at HF. Dont remember last year but thought he was on ball or centre.

I'm currently off the Gawn wagon now. So I'm sure that'll backfire.

Grundy had an absolute mare. Didnt look interested. No second efforts. Just jogging around watching the ball disappear.
That said, there was less stoppages again. Consistent with Thursday nights game.

I do think Gawn will be ok.. but I dno, I've had the confidence sapped out of me from that Grundy effort last night. Not sure Gawn can do the big 120+ average anymore in the first 5 games like he needs to do to justify his price.

EDIT:
It's essentially Gawn + Lazzarro versus Merrett + Flynn.

No, they gotta start somewhere, when you got Fyfe, Brayshaw, Cerra, Serong, Mundy, Acres, Blakely, Aish. Cant fit them all in the starting 3 mids! He will be fine.

You could do worse than all of those options.... I went Ollie Henry. Paid up for a rookie to lose money. What a start to the year

I'm not too concerned.

Our forward line is currently depleted with Walters, Lobb, Frederick, and Crowden missing. Treacy missing for the next few weeks too and he may have been given a crack.

JL in his presser mentioned a few of the mids would rotate forward but I did note that he didn't refer to Serong as one of those. Referred to Fyfe, Cerra and Mundy as being the guys that would spend time there.

Don't know how much to read into JL's comments, seeing as Fyfe and Mundy's time on ball will probably be dictated by the game situation.

Ouch. Hopefully not on field? Hopefully he'll still be $190ish and can still be swapped out. Might be worth keeping a spare ~ $30k though so you can move him up to the best performing rook you missed!

Thanks mate. Just skeptical with his absence in pre season and thought maybe he is carrying a injury and its why he isnt in the guts. You would know better and im grateful for the input.

Yep on field. I know nobody was talking about him but in the pies/cats warm up game I saw a lot I liked about him and I had a hope he might pop up with a couple of goals and be a must have next week and I would have the jump on people.
Not the end of the world with a rookie in round 1 but it hurts! Though bringing in Macrae 10mins before the game made up for it

Yeah, every reason to be a bit sceptical, I have my concerns too. I basically went Serong over Walsh to allow me two premo rucks. And, after Grundy and Walsh's respective performances I need Serong to pay off.

Worst case scenario, if Serong does look like he's carrying an injury, he's an easy sideways trade to Williams.

Just should note the club did seem pretty adamant it was just general soreness and management of his load that saw him left out of the second preseason game, gonna back him.

The evidence is mounting that there is a trend against ruck scoring (11 games) and it may be the case, but part of my reason for dumping Grundy was that he would find it hard against dual rucks. I have always thought of S Martin as a good stopper as well as an accumulator. The last part has gone it seems but he and English are going to be tough.

And I really thought English looks far more imposing than previous years. Tough duo.

Max, ordinarily should average 140+ against his next three opponents. He should still, if the trend is real, get 120 odd. If that's the case, Rd 4 or 5 may be time to reassess

So, having said all that: the immediate decision is whether to Max, or not to Max.

And, what to do with Macrae's VC? If not Macrae: Gawn or Merrett?

I've flipped and gone Flynn at R2 to wait and see how it all settles.
No doubt Gawn will slap me in the face with a beast score. But I've atleast brought in merrett instead so he "Should" match Gawn for points.

Serong in for this week. Could swap him to Smith if he doesn’t perform. Only worries I have with Smith are: I don’t want to be holding onto too many Dogs players at any point in time and Collingwood are notoriously big points leakers. Smith looked great but when your side has the ball 100+ times more than your opponent (included 8 tonnes and a 96) you’d hope for a decent score. That being said.. it was a 130 with 5 FAs.. hmmm
