I like your strategy but i like to think that all my picks will do well so i dont want to plan that way. Zwilliams is too good not to have as soon as he is availbale. If you wait a few weeks he will be 100k more expensive. I have decided to get in Short. I read somewhere houli should be back week 2 and when he is in Short averages much much less. So i can see short going gangbusters first game then i will swap him for williams. Similar price as well so wont have to find a way to get the extra cash. Caleb daniel, stewart and houston could all be keepers and i would be hesitant to trade them.Big part of my plans, and almost a contingency for anyone in my team who doesn't perform up to scratch Week 1.
Basically, have an extra premo, Fantasia and Clark all as options to downgrade/upgrade, to get him in the week he returns, or a week later if I want to see how he goes.
For example, have Dusty and Dunks who could be underwhelming for a few reasons, but have left out Rowell to see how he goes first week back from a reco. If Rowell scores similarly and Dunks' is played forward and scores less, than I can pocket 150K or so, and then use my spare 50-80K to upgrade Clark.
My thoughts are, bring in someone for a week to sideways trade who has a good matchup, play an extra premo to downgrade, or have two midpricers in and see how they go so you can down/up to get Williams when he returns.
Toyed with having him on the bench for all of 5 seconds, but it's just not worth it given you could just trade him in and score an extra 50+ points from the guy you have in his place for Week 1.
Was first picked in my pre-season team, so I reckon anyone who had him, should definitely have a strategy to get him in Week 2 or 3, before he inevitably increases in price and gets away from you.
Hope that helps
Definately fantasia. Cummings was underwhelming in preseason where as fantasia killed it. Ports first game is against the roos and i expect a big score from fantasia first up. Fantasias floor seems to be cummings ceiling.Cumming Vs Fantasia at D5?
I don’t mind Draper, he’ll definitely see a boost on his averageAm i missing something on draper. He is bargain priced and surely will average 80+ this year. He looked good in preseason. Yet is barely talked about. Im thinking witts and draper as my rucks.
HindBest player for under 410k, can play anywhere due to dpps was thinking hind tyson or markov. Thoughts?
So the Shuey news makes Duggan a lock for me. (was already in my team) but can we please make it the rest of the way to round one without injuries
Trew round 1 debut
Someone has to debut you have almost no midfield atm (Kelly/Yeo/Shuey that is 3 of your 4 best mids)Trew round 1 debut
Could be Xavier O'Neill or Trew. But with XON priced at 310k, only Trew would be fantasy relevant.Someone has to debut you have almost no midfield atm (Kelly/Yeo/Shuey that is 3 of your 4 best mids)
Trew is a decent bet although i am not up to date on WC young players so could be wrong
I'm one of those still hoping that Rowell is fit and ready to go. But of those combos I'd go Dunks and Drew. Dunks as a top 6 fwd gives him the edge over Rowell, and I don't really trust Caldwell to score that well (but I could be misreading that). If Drew is named, he should get a good run at least until SPP is back.Dunkley & Drew

Pick the best squad you think you can and go with it.This feels like a total newbie question... but how much cash do you ideally like to keep in the bank going into round 1?
I had been thinking it'd be good to have say $30-50k handy - that would let you make pretty much whichever rookie corrections you like. (And touch wood not needing to adjust any of your premos and midpricers.)
But I saw somewhere that Selby likes to basically spend as much as he can onfield, so maybe I'm being too conservative?
I've currently got $13k in the kitty. I wouldn't want to totally restructure my team just to bump this up - however I could do something like swap Stewart to Daniel and have $73k leftover (which then feels like too much left in the bank)...
Thanks mate. Good to get that reassurance. I guess the Stewart-Daniel was a bad example. Swapping premos just for extra bank is a bit drasticPick the best squad you think you can and go with it.
If you have done that and have $80K left over brilliant that will be handy.
If you have done that and have $10k left over that is totally fine, gotta back in the selections you make.
If you think Stewart will be better than Daniel you have to make the pick.

I’d go 2 as you get two keepersLloyd + Witts +60k
v
Grundy + Daniel
I do think Lloyd averages more than Grundy. Witts probably on par with Daniel.. so why does #2 look better?
