Just about the nsw's topic, WTF is clarke doing as the next bowler in line??

Surely he isnt our next best option when we are looking to develop a new frontline attack?

Because he is the only member of the hack attack to not play for Australia, untill now ;)

Re: Cameron White

Bad. If you are playing the best in the world you have to have the best Australians playing it's that simple.

Australian Youth Captains

Wikipedia lists Veletta, Martyn, Clarke, Haddin and Hauritz.

What will his figures be

8 - 0 - 1 - 60, looks bout right to me for the "spinner"

very good young batsmen tho, seems to step up when the pressure is on - gotta love that about him.

PLZ prove me wrong cameron, dominate with the ball!
Didn't think you could take 60 wickets in a game, especially in only 48 balls.

Ricky Ponting had a similar record, i suppose that makes him a great captain ;)

Re: Cameron White

I reckon its crap, i don't rate him at all with the ball but can swing the willow not bad

wouldnt classify him an all-rounder as he cant bowl

Well he did start off as a no.3 batsman as a youngster, and while his bowling needs a bit of work, he's trying hard to improve it, remodelling his action and all. Whichever way you look at it, the kid is an outstanding one-day package - outstanding slips fieldman, leader and tactician, as well as solid batsman and handy 5th bowler. I think he needs to step up to play Test cricket though, as these bits and pieces players like Symonds, White, Hopes are usually labelled one day specialists.

Sounds like an advertisement for Beau Casson :) Don't forget, Cam White has a better FC bowling average than Hoggy :p

And Ben, what time was that World XI launch on today?

The launch was on at 1pm today, so a lot of suits there who had ducked out ouf the office for a bit to eat and the possibility of an autograph from an international cricketer or two.

Hogg bowls the majority on the WACA which is the least spin friendly wicket even Warne struggles there

Re: Hogg Injured, Cameron White into Aussie ODI Team

I've heard that TJ's been helping Whitey's bowling, but don't think it'd do his leggies much good, at least not at Test level.

He can be in a side as a no.6-7 bat who might bowl a bit, that's handy.

And the WACA's a graveyard for wrist spinners, but if finger spinners with good skills can use that Fremantle doctor well, then they can always get wickets. Cullen got a 5-fer last season there, and remember Vettori getting 6 there in a Test as well

Re: Hogg Injured, Cameron White into Aussie ODI Team

From what i have read white has changed his action to actually get some spin, i would like to see him do well

I remember Vettori getting smashed onto the roof of the Lillee Marsh stand, and Gilly getting 35 runs off 10 balls, most against him.

but he still bowls way to fast at his best warne bowls around 49kph white is no where round that speed cause if he did he would get smashed as he gets nothing on the ball

he has slowed down his action, and i reacon is at his best pace, if he bowls any slower he'll b punished at his age, but any faster and the wayward might return, overall i think his bowling has changed for the better.

Re: Hogg Injured, Cameron White into Aussie ODI Team

Great to see Whitey in the ODI squad. First Richmond CC Aussie Rep since Paul Reiffel. :D

Re: Hogg Injured, Cameron White into Aussie ODI Team

Well they're not losing too much in terms of bowling and they add a fair bet in batting with Whites inclusion.
