their forwards will cut our defense to pieces unless there is a massive attitude adjustment, this team has to show some out fashioned guts or its all over
that are fast and have good skills , we are up against it for sure

Just looking at Lohmann a little more and what his ToG was in that early part of the season.

Round 5 - Collingwood - 66%
Round 6 - Sun's - 21% (62% in first quarter before injury)

Those are pretty low ToG, I feel like he played more then 2 games but it seems not!
66% TOG is a little low but okay for a 1st game.
In that same Pies game Rayner 68% (2022 average 75.6%) and Robbo 69% (2022 average 62.2%) being the others below 70%

Carter Michael 79% (first and only game) defenders tend to stay on ground a little longer
Tunstall 58 % (first game), then 76%, 76%

Robbo's 2022 average TOG is low for a senior player so it looks like his time could be coming to an end
Robbo's lowest yearly TOG average was in 2013 being 75%
His last three years have gone down in each year 81%, 79%, 77% and so far this year 62%

I see our problems are bigger than individual players. When we are 42 points up time is on our side, every second we have the ball is a plus for us and a minus for them. What I say is don’t kick to a 50/50 contest if we have a 20 metre safe kick to one of ours, use 15 seconds and another safe kick, make the opposition come and get it, they need it, they lose if they don’t.

Want to see players step up and show they want to make something out of this season. Too many players went missing second half last week. Hopefully when challenged again on the weekend we actually have players embrace it and lift. No go into their shell and wait for someone else to do it

Wonder if we could see a left field selection and give Cox a game. Bit of extra pace and flair on the wing?

Unlikely I would've thought.

Out Bailey - In Lohmann
Out Cockatoo - In Rich.
Out Robinson - In Prior.
Out Lyons (will probs be Matho tho) - In Dev.

If the club still has a hysterical fear that we will lose a game if Oscar goes down during the game.

Out McStay - In Fort.

MediSub - Sharp / Wilmot / Madden

Edit: If Starc gets up then that doesn't work lol.

It’s appears we struggle to defend. Let’s pick the most attacking side we can- cocky stays Gardiner dropped, Rich for Answerth, Dev or Prior medi sub and who ever is struggling gets flicked at half time for the medi- sub(abuse it like most other teams). The 2nd ruck stuff is rubbish, play one, if he goes down so be it.

Bailey playing unless something unexpected comes up between now and Sunday.

Great analysis going further then my lazy butt :)

Does raise the question though of how many low ToG players we can manage, one Lohmann if he can sit around that 70ish mark would probably be okay, especially as the forwards need those repeat sprint efforts (running forward for goal then back to defend / cover space).

These numbers show Prior should be in for Robbo this week hopefully.

I want a 6 person midfield of Neale, McCluggage, Robertson, Berry, Bailey and Lyons/Matho with Rayner spending time on the ball each quarter.

Wings should be split between Ah Chee, Bailey and Berry (when not on the ball) with a purely defensive focus.

I want a million dollars.

Yes i think Robbo is at the stage that if we play a younger player we may gain a bit
At worst we would not lose much in any one game and the younger guys get more experience

I imagine the TOG is fairly well managed before the game
In general defenders especially KPD stay on the ground the most followed by your KPF
Then your better midfielders stay on longer followed by a bunch of players
Other things considered would be coming back from certain injuries and of course injuries during the game
Younger players and fringe players most likely get less TOG

Was soft to come off at all I reckon.

Coughing up blood? Pfft, we used to just run that off back in my day, same as an ACL.

My tip for this weekend is Eric is going to look even cranky-er than he did last week.

They'll all have their cranky pants on, including the coaches, and it will be a Carlton demolition in the first quarter. Like last week.

Carlton know our weakness is falling apart, so will fight back gallantly in the second quarter.

Lions will spend the half time break remembering that they are cranky as, and the last half will be the lions continuing to pull away on the scoreboard.

Lions by 34.

Just in case I'm wrong (it happens 😁), we are doing the pre-game pub lunch and will consume anaesthetic in advance.

Enter Cox
Interesting I do not think he been too bad the games he played.

For me ins Rich/Starc then out of Lohmann, Prior and Dev
Major in players putting in for 4 full quarters
outs
Answerth for Starc
Cocky for Rich.. Then Cocky as a Sub.
Robbo for Prior
Berry out injured for Lohmann.. Clugga to the other wing with Prior/AhChee. Rayner/Linc more on ball time.
Lyons for Dev.. Although will not happen
Matho last chance. Honestly do we get 3 games into Dev as a real inside mid before finals?

Honestly wondering if McStay checked out now he signed with the Pies :) Maybe just play Fort and be done with it
Really do not care if players say they going. Although not been great for a few weeks

Edit I really worrying about Adams since Covid last week no intercept marks.
Not sure it taken its toll on him

There seem to be injury/health issues that we're not aware of.

I don't know how the way we're going anyone could watch Lohmann play and not put him in the side.

But I'm always ready to be surprised.

I know he didn't do much but I honestly thought matho played better than lyons.

Okay, I'm over last week's loss now no point crying about it anymore it's over time to move past it and start supporting the team against the blues.
