It is extremely difficult to choose the best three on the night because so many were influential at crucial stages...
3. Gibson
2. Goldy and his infinite dicks...
1. Waite

HM: Higgins, JZ, Boomer, Dish, Garner, Tarrant etc.

3- Tarrant (Pretty much his only downfall was his kicking for goal. I'm willing to forgive that for a defender. Imagine he slotted 2 playing from FB/CHB?!)

2- Cunnington (Is a beast in the contest. It's almost impossible to take down in a tackle and breaks free to give off the clean possession time and time again)

1- Goldy (Was the reason we won in the end. Ruckwork is second to none. Only pipped by the other two because, by his lofty standards, his first three quarters were quiet, mark and possession-wise)

HM- Think Drew's game was huge, just didn't translate to stats. Waite very good too. Lots of contributors

Seriously? Wells was close to perfect, literally almost every thing he did lead to a goal or shot on goal for us. Tired later in the game which is expected with his level of matchplay in the last year.
11 score involvements from 18 touches. Pretty freaking damaging.

He looks in magnificent form. His only blemish was the dropped mark standing under the ball which to be honest, he's never been great at protecting the drop like that.

3. Waite
2. Cunnington
1. Goldstein

Special mentions to LMac, Zeibell, Garner, Tarrant and Gibson for excellent games.

3. Cunners
2. Tarrant (so important to the team)
1. Goldy

Honourable mentions to Waitey, Gibbo, Ziebs, Boomer, Lindsay and Wellsy
Just watched the replay finally and have to put Petrie in as an honourable mention as well. Unlucky to not get votes. We kind of underestimate what a colossus he has been and continues to be for the club. So many contests he's two against one or three against one and he sometimes manages to bring the ball to ground, create a contest or use his body to allow someone else to mark the ball. It was his contest that led to Boomer's third goal in the third quarter.

I know the above votes are all based on personal opinion but shit I thought Taz would get more love. After what Tex did to us last year in the corresponding game, he had no influence in the game and Robbie patrolled the backline like a freaking general.

That's fair, but at the same time Waite had 20, kicked 3 goals, was a presence up forward all night and his pressure was immense. Cunnington was a ball winning/contested machine and Goldy had a ridiculously influential last quarter!

No one in afl.com's "Team of the Week" No votes to anyone.
Those teams of the week are always terrible. They never look to craft an actual team from the weekend's results but just fill every line with 30 touch players. Fazza2Jazza creates a much better TOTW on the mainboard and he doesn't even get paid...
