Maybe a bit of subterfuge from JAM...?

No subterfuge at all nonch, I suspect one of our new players (NTwizard) is trying to talk himself up, I am simply putting him back in his box.

Keen as for round 1. It will be interesting to see what Bright bring over considering they make the largest trip in the league for round one it could be difficult. I know we would struggle to have our best 22 if we had to go to Bright in round one.

Good luck to everyone for the weekend!

Fair enough JAM - so you should!

As for Bright, I reckon you guys might give them a fair touch up in the ones, and I suspect they will struggle to put a side on the field in the twos unfortunately.

I hope they have numbers for the two's to have a run around. In the seniors it will be interesting to see how we go with some considerable changes to our side from last year. I just hope they don't have 6 tall, 20 year old whippets running around in their forward line like they did last year. I'm getting far too old to be chasing blokes like that!

Anyway heres my tips for round one:

Greta V King Valley
Moyhu V Nth Wang
Milawa V Benalla
Bonnie Doon V Bright - Good luck
Tatong V Glenrowan
Swanpool V Whorouly
Tarawingee V Goorambat

Bright stuggle to get to Benalla, let alone up to doon! will be interesting to see if they do make the trip.

Will be a nice change for Bright to have to travel round 1 and struggle for numbers, we have played them at easter in round 1 the last few years and they seem to have 120 players to choose from as every tom dick and harry is home for easter.
Anyway here's my tips for round one:

Greta over KV by 5gls. Bit more if you know who playes you know where.
Moyhu over Nth wang by7gls. Moyhu's new young blokes the diff.
Doon over Bright 8 gls. Pls don't spank them by too much JAM, it makes them angry when the lose big early in the year.
G'rowan over Tatong by 4 gls. A lot more run and direct play in G/rowan this year
Whorouly over Swannie by daylight.
Tarraover G/bat by however much a game can be won by
Milawa over Blacks by a ****teenth. Only because it's being played on the sandy mound .

Did hear last night that Swannie will be right for No's for the year, which is a good thing:thumbsu:

Glenrowan look to be in a bit of strife numbers wise.

Only 25 players named for both seniors and reserves on the website...

Yeah there wasn't too many at training when I was out there a few weeks back TGN.

Must only be two or three players from last year's side in the senior team for this week. Starting to think I should have tipped Tatong...

And for what it's worth, here are my tips:

Greta V King Valley - will probably be wrong, but just think Sesso could dominate if the ball gets down there enough.
Moyhu V Nth Wang
Milawa V Benalla - Real toss up - no Stamp and Cavill could hurt Dees, but Sims looks fit and could kick a bag.
Bonnie Doon V Bright
Tatong V Glenrowan
Swanpool V Whorouly
Tarawingee V Goorambat

Bonnie Doon vs Bright - 8 goals
Greta vs King Valley - 3 goals
Milawa vs Benalla All Blacks - 2 goals
Moyhu vs North Wangaratta - 6 goals
Swanpool vs Whorouly - 30 goals
Tarrawingee vs Goorambat - 25 goals
Tatong vs Glenrowan - 3 goals

It's so close I can smell it.........and no, I haven't shit myself.......Good luck one and all today guys/girls....

any comment on todays game slim? hear blacks have a couple of serious injurys

Blinder of a game ATB. Flat out from start to finish...We got away in the 1st. they came back in the 2nd. Then it was a bit of a see sawing game with the lead changing constantly but we managed to pull away and hold on in the last 15 mins.

We had a couple of minor injuries that left us without a bench for the 3rd qtr, in terms of serious injury steve Murray broke his arm in the 1st minute, ground was very hard.....Also Tim Allan?? from Milawa appears to have a back injury after being caught by a knee to the lower back, looked to be in a bad way.

Can't wait to play them again on our ground, will be a pisser of a game.

As I said the ground was very hard and it had a few ankle breakers along the change room wing but the pain seems to have temporarily disappeared with some lubrication.

heard ressies no's were low in a couple. Looks like Bright forfeited to Doon, JAM??...Also heard KV only had about 10 but were topped up by Greta to get a game underway..
