Something I find pretty wild is how new organised sport is. obviously it aligns with plenty of things, railways and cheaper ways of writing and publishing texts, but there's basically no continued sport older than football/Aussie Rules/cricket.

Even wilder when you think about how quickly basketball and especially American football were picked up. the first Super Bowl was only in the 60s.
