Reading the commentary around potentially getting picks 25 and 33 (effectively 28 and 36) is sickening.

Prefer to let Ollie walk into the draft.

Exactly how i feel. I would rather get nothing and see him drafted by West Coast than hand him to Geelong for SFA.

As a long shot is there any clubs we can on trade these for points and grab picks next year, Essendon or Brisbane ? Assuming brisbane is deep in for dunkley and wont have picks for next year either

don't get me wrong. Geelong for most of the year is a lovely place to live. Trade season (especially after they win a flag) is particularly horrendous.
yeah, so a couple of my friends have told me. I keep telling them to burn down KP on their way out of town lol

A lot can change in 12 months.
I know you love all our players Jen and you are a very glass half full kind of person, i mostly would have same view, but with his brother being at cats
i cannot see him changing his mind. Personally i would not waste time ,effort and money on him anymore.

Three scenarios:
Hold for a Cats first rounder
No deal = Give ollie low ball two year contract not one year
No deal = walk to north or west coast

Message to Ollie Cats don't rate you in best 22

Fin has a brother at bulldogs, got less AFL games and worked his arse off in the VFL. Ollie walked around VFL like he didn't want to or deserve to be there.

We cannot be cleaning up past messes with salary dumps and getting bent over by draftees being developed. The club messaging to player managers here needs to be clear.

We just need to trade for Jack and build a fuel allowance into their contracts.
We are innovative - we can do better

Hold firm.

“We were reluctant to entertain a trade, it had to be a certain level for us to consider it. We were really clear with Ollie, his management and Geelong, and at this stage we are no further advanced than pick 25 which we won’t accept,” Wright said.

“Absolutely, we would love Ollie to stay. But there is a pull down the highway. We understand that. It is only 40 or 50 minutes down the road. We hope that if a trade couldn’t be secured – and it’s probably unlikely – Ollie would stay with us and we would work something out with him.”

This has Nick Davis vibes. We are going to get nothing for him.

From memory we got pick #21 for Davis; still better than the Cats’ offer.

It was on us that we didn’t get a decent player for that pick.

We should let him carry out his threat.

I would also be suggesting to Jack Crisp to find another manager.
