I honestly can't see Ollie getting offered a better contract than the one he is on with two bung shoulders and what will likely be two very ordinary seasons behind him. Unless he is pushed out the door by the club, for trade value much less than he is worth, maybe we can look forward to Ollie being at the club for 2021 and 2022

Do we really need to free up Ollie salary that much? Surely we took into account his contract when we negotiated the contract with him...

Maybe I am becoming too cynical, but there has to be some suspicions as to the reasons why Kane Corner would follow the mother of a reportedly/possibly disgruntled player on social media.

I like Ollie and if he changed his mind and wanted to stay, I'd be ok with it.

IF he does leave, I am concerned that 2019 trade period is going to be when we could have extracted maximum value from him. Either we need a big back half of the season from him or we need to encourage him to nominate a club that is desperate for an inside mid (that isn't Essendon) and we'll hopefully get a first round pick somewhere.

I think it’s a simple case of Ollie wanting to move on, there are Vic clubs that have always made it known they will have him back, and the club i think will be willing to let him go. We will get good compo for him.

we can get good picks for him, and both parties can move on. He is a very good young player despite people wanting to talk him down but I’m happy to move on and make rozee Houston duursma and drew the core of our new midfield going forward.

With the picks we get from him I’m pretty happy to let our drafting team have a crack. He won’t be easy to replace in the draft but we’ve got so much young talent, and I’m confident in our drafting teams ability that we can add something to our young roster.

Based on the past three years of FA/trade action by us, its highly likely that if that sort of offer is available, that we will mutually make the change. Our strategy has clearly been to get a big core of young high end talent around the same age. (Yes I even think the FA's coming in has supported this strategy)

i think that's just because Kane has no life other than footy gossip and social media, so of course he follows one of our most popular players parents on Twitter, given they're in the spotlight kind of more than most parents.

I didn't see them but from what another poster has said, this thread has definitely attracted some numpties that want to see Ollie Wines playing for another club asap. I don't feel strongly about Ollie staying or not, but I do think it's likely a win-win situation for us, no matter what he chooses to do. What detriment are you concerned with?

I see it as a definite loss for the club given that next years draft is weak. The club would have to get 2 first round draft picks to break even in my opinion. Personally, I would like to see Ollie stay

Good point on the draft, but I'm not sure you've considered we could also get a player or a 2021 pick. Lots of ways this could play out well for us if we don't roll over.

Yep, thats a good point too but its hypothetical, we could win but I still think we would lose in that scenario. The best result would be for Ollie to stay as I think he is still a very valuable player for Port
