Former Murray Bushrangers player Iain McGilvray is returning to the region, almost signed at Corowa before CDHBU offered him a big sum of money, I have been told his weighing up his options.

Heard a very similar story regarding L.McLarty, very close to signing back with the Roo's after a stint up north but then a very attractive offer was thrown at him by CDHBU.

Incorrect once again mufhasa. Lachie and his GF are travelling around Australia. CDHBU have always known this and never threw massive coin at him. How did they know? Because Lachie's GF is a Hanrahan and her father is on the committee out there and her family is heavily involved and always have been.

I think Corowa and it's supporters need to look within in order to solve their problems instead of pointing fingers at other ovens and Murray clubs and the district clubs. AHi all. I hope the New Years celebrations went well. I need some volunteers for the carnival this Friday night. If you can help then please let me know. Mauly also needs a list of volunteers for the Mussel Festival. You can chose a morning or afternoon shift on Saturday the 14th. Once again, please text me if you can help. Thanks in advance, Marknd after speaking to a Corowa committee member for an hour on NYE, that's exactly what they are beginning to do with positive results already.
yeah, right

Albury seem to be pretty quiet over the off season. Surely they have some big fish planned. They would have the points up their sleeve wouldn't they.

Might have points up their sleeve but if the salary cap is being enforced the way they are claiming it will be (portion of players wages from their actual jobs if linked to playing football included in the cap) then it would be an understatement to say Albury are well and truly over the cap. Whether or not this is actually enforceable is the question

Unravelling credit, fuel cards, lease payments and multiple other payments is something that even the afl has never come to grips with so any nominated investigator from the O&M will have their hand tied as tried decades ago. The points system takes time but is only at best the long term answer.

Hearing again not all right for Sam Schultz and his knee. Might have had a visit to a specialist since returning from o'seas. Massive blow for Tigers if right.

How is it a massive blow for the Tigers !!!!!,,, he hasnt played a game for them yet ,,, and they still shit the flag in this past season

Doggies back on the track this week and leading the pack is a player expected to be more than handy for Wodonga this year _ Trent Williamson.
Squeezed out of the Bushies best team late in the year and sticking around which is great news for the Hounds.
Throw Mason Marr into a team that finished the year stronger and Wodonga is primed to return to finals, probably at the expense of cross-town rivals, who have still got the cheque book out with young Kelly from up Wagga way the latest to sign.
Just don't understand Raiders approach by recruiting players who come here with big points attached.
Back on the Dogs, the only worry is fitness of Tom Johnson, hasn't been able to get on track much in pre-season so far.

Has Bradshaw retired ?

I think Wangaratta have bigger claims on returning to the five than Wodonga do. A fit Newton is going to smash this comp.
it would be good for the league if Wodonga made it because they haven't played Finals for nearly 10 years.

Noticed with interest this story on BM website tonight. http://www.bordermail.com.au/story/4402036/son-of-a-gun/?cs=10
Another import at Raiders. High points for a player who on face value is not a superstar. Fifth in his club best and fairest in a comp considered inferior to OM.
Unless Cressa has lost some players we don't know about yet, the faders will once again be over the player points cap this year.
Begs the question is their a disconnect between the footy department and the club administration which would have to be aware of the current operating evironment (points and salary cap) and would be applying the brakes to the coach on this recruiting strategy.
At a guess Raiders' best side would be over 40 points with Filo, Baird and now Kelly all high point players.
Even the loss of a couple of Hetas don't create a lot of points space
Something not quite rite at Birallee Park,

Do you think the club sacked him because he was going to be absent for a while or he quit because it's getting too hard. I heard training attendance is very low. This could be a good thing.

Probably a little from colum a and a little colum b.
Statements from north and acker both indicate due to an increase in Jason's family and business commitments it was best to part ways.
He said he's not going to jungle, but how would any of us know. Could all be a smokescreen, certainly close timing.

There would definitely be a confidentiality clause with the jingle thing. His pay would depend on it too I think.

So what's the concensus. Has he been good for them or not?

Probably more good for the league than good for the club. Been good for the league to have a high profile outspoken coach who generates publicity and interest but not sure how good it has been for the club.
