O'Meara - who wants him?

Would you take O'Meara in the draft/PSD even though he's nominated Hawthorn?

Wants to go to a Victoria Club but with all his history of injuries and Gold Coast playing hardball - is he worth it?

What would your club pay?

I think a team will end up paying overs for him and see very little compensation for him with two dodgy knees keeping him off the park for long periods. Two first rounders would be way too much but because Collingwood payed that its what GC will expect. I'd rather keep the picks!

Is Victoria confirmed?

AFL.com.au says 'interstate'

I think most Melbourne clubs would be keen. Collingwood won't have the picks (Treloar), Richmond will be using their resources for Prestia, so for mine he'll probably end up at Melbourne or Carlton for a first rounder plus a decent young player.

Forgive my ignorance but didn't he manage to get back and play some NEAFL games this season? Or has he re-injured himself?

That will soften.

Bombers will be circling.

Let him slide in the PSD

This expectation that injured kids are worth 2 round ones "because that's what treloar got" is idiotic (and ffs treloar has functioning knees)

More interested in your avatar pic tbh.

Agreed.

On topic though, it would mostly come down to the price (both trade and salary), and his injuries would have significantly reduced his value there. A lot will come down to his medical report.

Screw Jaeger. We're born a month apart. He has the body of a Greek God. And mine is closer to a potato. I wish him no luck.

Damn that God given muscular physique!

There will be clubs willing to give up 2 first rounders for him though, whether he is worth it or not.

By the sounds of things GC will be selling to the highest bidder

Any club that does (outside a top four club where is a much cheaper round 1) needs its head read imo

Trying to...but O'Meara needs to sign the deal.

Personally, I rather like the idea of clubs playing hardball and telling players "highest bidder or draft", and think it should have been in the last CBA as a trade off for free agency, but it's a big call for a club to lose a first rounder (quite possibly an early one) on a matter of principle.

He is the toughest player to value since we really have no idea whether he will ever get back to his pre-injury form.

I can't see how any club can justify sending two round one picks to GC given the uncertainty sitting over O'Meara. It'd be crazy list management.

I suspect a middle ground will eventually be reached that sees O'Meara valued less highly. GC are in no position to let him slide to the draft.
