In his primary role he was - around the ground - an area he's been awful in all year - he was one of our best.

The problem is though IMO, if you get Warnock you cannot play Vickery, Warnock and Maric in the one side IMO because you would lack run and mobility. Vickery IMO can't be solely a permanent forward. IMO even the Swans with Pike,Mumford and Tippet are having issues with run. Vickery for me is closer to a Ruck/forward so IMO, he just needs to develop his ruck game and his forward work should progress

I actually think he goes quite well, can play fwd when needed but more importantly will give a real contest in the guts. I think he would thrive as the no 1.

Sorry I confused Warnock with Hampson. Still can't see us playing Maric, Warnock and Hampson together either for the same reason, the 3 as a collective are not mobile enough and would effect our run.

The difference with a side like Hawthorn with Bailey, Hale, Roughead etc.. is the mobility of their talls and Rucks

Not sure we need another ruckman with Maric, Vickery and Mcbean coming through. When McBean steps up he becomes our 2nd ruck/KPP. Play A. Edwards leading out of the goal square, jack at CHF leading up the ground and alternate McBean and Vickery through ruck and fixed CHF. Maric rucks 50% game time and rotates through def in the "hole", Vickery does 30% and rotates through fwd line and high HFF, McBean gives both of these guys a chop out with 20%, playing mainly as our 3rd tall fwd.

McBean, if he can complete at AFL level, could be total x-factor. He's so agile - having been a midfielder. If the ruck sharing between Ivan, Ty and McBean could work as you as you describe, which is a huge if at this stage, we could have a great point of differentiation.

At this stage, I'd be looking for McBean to play a few games forward and Ty to develop a bit more in the ruck and thus pressure easing on Ivan. But who knows where the tall structure ends up. What i don't think we should do is panic into paying overs of some ruck prospect from the outside. A capable option to replace O is all we need IMO.

I would like to see the Tige's target Mabon from the Kangaroos. He is the right age & could be someone that ultimately takes over from Maric in a few years.

He is a couple of years off, still a bit undersized and gets worked over by the physically bigger ruckmen who have been in the AFL system for longer. We gave him a one year extension last year so should be out of contract atm.

I don't think so, Warnock gave the blues on-ballers silver service. When they had a run on in the third we couldn't win a clearance and it was mainly because the hitouts were going straight to the blues. The same continued in the 4th.

Good points but still baffles me why we couldn't get 1 or more of our midfielders roving to Warnock

Surprised at some of the opinions on Maric's game here. I thought he battled really well. I'd be looking more at the effort of some of our mids (even being one rotation down) rather than Maric's.

McGane is as good a foward as Hampson is a ruck
