Re: Caveat Emptor - Welcome to the lake of fire, happy fishing

Could not find a discussion thread about the game

Will copy the post accidentally put in the SC thread.

Expecting the Dons to win comfortably this week. If the Dees play like last week and it is dry conditions on the ground we should flog you by 15 goals. Were pitiful last week and lack leadership. I hope for a percentage booster which could be crucial with the Blues and Swans close on the ladder. Your lads will surely lift this week after another week of bashing from the media no doubt.

Having Hurley and Watson play will be important for us so hopefully they get up. My tip is Dons by 40.

You got an armchair ride by the umpires last time we played with 7 goals from 50m penalties whilst playing a team that clearly was shot.

Will be very interesting to see how this game plays out and to compare in general how both clubs have gone this season after all the predictions in the pre-season.

Note that the margin may be revised depending on the weather. Our skills will come to the fore provided it is dry.

You still mad bro?

Dear Duritz,

Kindly pass me what you are smoking, drinking and injecting yourself with... perhaps even munching on...

Yours sincerely,
TPM

Dear TPM,

I am smoking the pipe of truth, drinking to the Lions outstanding band of youngsters, injecting myself with enthusiasm about our bright future, and munching on the sweet cookies of destiny.

Love,

Duritz

Re: Caveat Emptor - Welcome to the lake of fire, happy fishing

Dear Dees fans,

will it be extraordinarily embarassing if the Lions manage to overtake the Supertank by the end of this year? Will this be even more embarassing because the Supertank is, well, full of Supertanked Soldiers, and the Lions isn't (Retzlaff... Pick 84, Rockliff... PSD ), and those same Lions lost their first 7?

Love,

Duritz

you probably would be if you had beaten The Suns :eek: :D

I dunno man. Aren't you guys coming off a bye? Jesus Christ made a rule in the Bible that no team can win coming off a bye. Duh.

Re: Caveat Emptor - Welcome to the lake of fire, happy fishing

BS,

Worst gif in the world! :D

I can't stand him.

On another note:

This thread will need some refinement as time goes on to ensure it lives on, but in its initial incarnation it will continue for now. If it isn't the thread we hoped for it wont last.

What I would linked in the future is a round by round banter thread where opposition posters that we play (in the week before & after we play them) can visit to have a bit of fun.

This thread seems to be going ok so far so we will keep an eye on it.

Re: Caveat Emptor - Welcome to the lake of fire, happy fishing

You merciless power-drunk moderator! How can you take away my only avenue for talking complete rubbish?!

You'll have to kill me before you close this thread.

I'll be waiting.

Re: Caveat Emptor - Welcome to the lake of fire, happy fishing

Probably would not have gotten Heppell if we had won that match so worked out fairly well :thumbsu:

Haha you mad!!!

Knights came out and said that he 'couldn't fault the umpires' for the 50 metre penalties, it was your own players insipidness :thumbsu:

But coolstorybro.

That was the game where Knights was criticised for staring at the umpires during one of the quarter breaks (3rd quarter from memory) so you would be wrong :)

I would like to enquire about your thoughts on Scully leaving as has been confirmed to a few of us from reliable sources. Will you be baying for his blood for the rest of his career? What are your thoughts on the ridiculous compensation you will get for him (mid teens pick has been touted)?

Hmm, interesting deflection.

Let me be serious for a second.

If Scully leaves, I will be disappointed, I won't bay for his blood, I won't call him a traitor... It's his life and his decision to make, If he doesn't want to play at Melbourne; then it is better for all concerned if he leaves... regardless of his talent.

We should get what Geelong got for Ablett, two first round picks. While we may not draft a player of Scully's ilk... we could certainly get a couple of talented youngsters... which would appease me enough. A no.1 draft pick is still the only 'Fair' compensation.

By the way, nice namesake...:eek::eek:

Deflection because only recently has it been made aware to me that Scully has 100% signed with GWS. No reason for it to be false but you can hold out hope if you are a Demons fan.

Very noble of you. Personally I would want his head but getting adequate compensation like 2 first rounders would soften the blow somewhat.

Ah yes, alas young Gumbleton never got a fair run at it. Over his injury and will play reserves next game but no point holding too much hope for him. Sometimes injuries cruel careers, pity.

Re: Caveat Emptor - Welcome to the lake of fire, happy fishing

Question about Blease. Is he...a/ A dud b/ being punished for being a ranga c/ any chance to play this week? I always thought he had talent and have noticed him in your best a couple of times for Casey but even with your crippling injuries and need for a "spark" he still can't get a game

You will have to excuse me for not taking you at face value, considering I doubt entirely that YOU would be privy to info that the media, Tom Scully's sponsor at the club ( on demonland ) and the club itself wouldn't :thumbsu:

Re: Caveat Emptor - Welcome to the lake of fire, happy fishing

He is d) recoving from a nearly career-ending fractured leg a couple of years ago. Has been in the mix for the last few weeks, is looking good again for this week but will probably be behind Trengove and Scully in line for a place

Are you serious? You do realise the kid spent the better part of two years recovering from a horrendous leg injury!! He only started playing for Casey seniors again for the last five or so games of VFL last year IIRC.

He is coming along nicely, has the talent, but Melbourne are rightfully being cautious with him. The first 5 games of VFL football this season was the most continuity he has had since joining the club.

He will be in consideration over the course of this year, many melbourne fans think he is a chance this week. It depends on whether the club thinks he is ready.

That is fine, has been circling around. Will be interesting when it all plays out.

Just want to pull you up a little bit. It was only in recent times when Eddie McGuire told you it was all done.

So your sources are a 'football circle' you are privy to?

Is this the same circle that said Pav had signed with GC last year? Eddie was trying to take the heat off his own club and players at the time and was proven wrong by Scully, both clubs and his management.

Re: Caveat Emptor - Welcome to the lake of fire, happy fishing

Scully is as Gawn as Max.

No biggie, im happy enough with Trengove and as TPM stated we will recieve compo. We will get two first rounders, prolly bank one of them and when GWS is still shit in 4 years time, WHAM!!, we will strike with a top 5 pick, and incase youre wondering, no, we wont be drafting a player as shit as Scott Gumbleton with it  . Could be much much worse, when free agency kicks in we get nuttin'.

BTW; Jack Viney, yea, Jack Viney, the most highly regarded 16 yo in the nation will be coming to us via the use of only a second round draft pick, like i said no biggie.:cool:
