why are you not freeze-framing it? Whats the point otherwise?

The ball is famous for doing crazy s**t based on its shape. How many weird bounces have you seen in your life? How many "impossible goals" have we seen Betts, Fev & Dusty kick where the spin of the ball defies logic?

That 1st video shows nothing, its completely pointless. The 2nd one shows, likely, human error - not corruption. We all make mistakes, the ump has made one. s**t happens.

The decision to pay dissent and essentially give them a goal / win for saying something naughty is where people need to focus. I'll never hang a person for human error that requires someone seeing something from a particular angle, speed etc. Get a grip
People make mistakes? No, not good enough. This shit can cost teams top 2 spots or finals spots, instead we get some BS excuse from the AFL and they all want to sweep it under the rug.

It's not good enough, commentators say you can't review instances in game because it will slow the game down even more? What rubbish, if that questionable decision has a direct scoring involvement it should be bloody looked at. As I said they are all too happy to waste time seeing if a player controlled a mark on the goal line or over it but in those instances where we have a clear video like the close up of Aish's arm and the ball deflection it's oh well people are only human and make mistakes.
No wonder so many people are frustrated with what this game is turning into.

on another note..... respect where its due to the Cats. How they are still competitive after all these years is incredible. I'm not sure how they are doing it at this point.

I thought we killed these ****ers in 2020,. They are the "Jason" of sports

The game was not a s**t ending because they missed the touched.

The game was was a s*t ending as they gave a free kick for swearing & we have no idea what the guy even said. As far as we know he might have just called him a blind prick, or, he might have said i hope your ****** kids get cancer and die in front of you and your wife. What he said could have been a ******* disgrace, or, it could have been just your day to day emotional outburst.

Making that moment decide a game though that is viewed, not heard, is not what supporters want. So, send them to a tribunal , fine them, suspend them etc.

Why are you even abusing me about a Carlton vs Fremantle game? wtf skin do either of us have in this to deserve that? And since when am i the one defending CFL? I'm the one who for several years have told you *******s that the AFL has written our fate for our behaviour in the hub. Get coherent jackass
Abusing you? Get real, I'm not abusing you I'm disagreeing with your crap view.

yeah that angel certainly shows it likely was -certainly was not touched by his hand, the other showed nothing really. but honestly, i have never lost my s**t or thought something was corrupt when an umpire has just missed a >1 second incidental contact. It happens & for 100 years we just dealt with the 'human error' element. The ump not calling the touched doesn't scream CFL to me. The decision to give another set shot 30m out directly in front for dissent was my only real beef as, seriously, who wants to spend 2 hours watching a game with a ball be decided by words we can't even hear?

Comparing this to our own arc-gate - its absolutely nothing. Human error is human error, it happens. I would loathe for the AFL to be like the NBA and spend up to 20 minutes a game "going to the replay" to decide incidental situations all over the field. Just live with mistakes.

But, deciding games on swear words is ******* s**t

Yes, ours was even worse, considering it was in a final and the ump paid a goal which would've won us the game and we would've been off to the semi-final.

But a ball coming off your arm you can hear it especially with the sweat.
It makes like a skidding noise.

It wasn't only that it was the other soft free kicks to the blues in the last the one to owes and acres where they got paid Frees for soft arm around the body, I mean, have you ever seen Lynch or Jack get those softy soft frees

And how about Mackay gets caught goes to ground that is holding the ball. No free kick and from that ball up. They got the so-called Mark to cottrell

righto Mr Perfect.

People make mistakes. Shit happens.

A nuclear reactor malfunction from a tsunami in Japan and caused havoc. Shit happens

A ****ing virus leaked out of a lab and infected the world. Shit happens.

A ump got a touched ball decision wrong. Who ****ing cares. Wasn't even our team for ffs. Much bigger shit to be outraged over

That's the problem, not our team not our problem until it happens to us right? You talk about calling the AFL out for years, well this instance the whole AFL community need to tell them it's not good enough.
AFL love to sweep it under the rug, pretend it never happened and if clubs speak up fine them for disagreeing.
It's pathetic

I see that bloody Jack Bowes has 2 goals and 14 disposals . Not bad for a reject plus pick 7

There is how many tens of thousands of people screaming at that game. You ever been on a ground with that many people screaming? I work in a very loud workplace and i cant sometimes hear people next to me calling out to me. You want him to not only SEE stuff through a crowd of players that takes >1second to view, but you also want to hear the ball slap against his skin?

Got more chance of hearing a pair of balls slapping against a groupies ass at a motley crue concert than hearing that. Gotta accept mistakes just happen. Its the decisions they make you need to question. like the dissent one. Thats where people need to be looking, not at stuff that is likely a genuine human error

All decent points - but each one needs to be viewed in isolation. 1+1 doesn't equal 3.

I 100% have been saying for several years that the AFL is the CFL, but the touched decision will never be determined to be corrupt as there is way to much room for human error to be the causing factor.

Arc-gate was the smokiest gun ever. And guess what? no one except Richmond supporters even cared to call it what it blatantly was. There was no room for "human error" in that. They broke their own rules that night & it was clear as day

I don’t think the problems, in general, are with what umpires see or don’t see but that they’re too involved - and just about every rule change makes them more involved. Stand, for instance, because you can ping someone for moving. Deliberate - even though it’s an oval-shaped ball that could go anywhere. Conceding a behind when not under enough pressure. Well, what’s enough pressure? Did it go 15 metres? Who the hell knows? I’d argue that all these rules, and more, guarantee that games can be, and often are, decided by the umpires.

Not really. If anything it showes the opposite. I did a "frame by frame" and at no point does the clearway between ball and hand crossover. The ball appears to change direction, but the ball had a massive curve on it, which is something i've seen a thousand times. But at no point do you see the "no space" between the ball & hand. It could only be touched if the video has a low frame-rate and is missing. I never had an opinion of "if it was touched" - but the decision to call a dissent and then give the player a 2nd shot on goal is incredibly s**t umpiring.p

I have never liked the idea that "dissent" can impact a game which is played for viewer enjoyment. We don't hear the dissent, so why penalise it like we do? Fans want to watch the game and see it be decided from what we are seeing. My opinion is all dissent should be reportable & dealt with after the game with either large fines ( ie $10k), or suspension for high grade or repeat offences. It's generally a emotive response to something, so like all things like that - you are always best to deal with the issue AFTER the emotion has been removed. The game is played and lived through the eyes & hearts of the viewer, not our ears. it just makes fans feel robbed when something like today happens & thats not what we all want. I have been gutted to lose games like this in the past & take no real joy winning them like that either, although - can't honestly remember that ever happening for us.p

Fans need to be vocal and outraged over the "drug testing" issue. Its a big enough flaunt of the overriding rules and integrity of the game to make a real change IMO. don't let them sweep it under the rug like they did with the Clarko aboriginal issues.p

Yellow line is on the far side of the ball. Do u ever see the ball overlap his hand?

What are you on?
It bounced off the freo blokes shoulder, everyone in the vicinity saw it except the maggots. Hence the reaction.
Why are you looking at his hand?

You are making too many excuses for the umpires they can't hear it because the noise, they didn't see the deflection.

The bottom line there are four umpires and this one was pretty obvious, and many players reacted to it immediately.

Anyway, like I said, not, only that one they got shafted on many others that resulted in goals, which gifted Carlton the win.

Cheat ground, an umpires favorite and rules made to benefit them are the only reasons they aren't a rabble.

Chris Scott presser going to be good if they lose this
