Just listened to Johnno’s rolling AA team - had Tom Stewart in there. FMD … it has become a deadset joke. Stewart was good in first game v Saints. Exceptional in 2nd game v Crows. Average in 3rd game v Hawks. Had a shocker in 4th game v Dogs.

Here is a list of defenders clearly superior thus far in 2024 to Tom Stewart:

Blakey
Houston
Ryan
Vlastuin
Collins
Taylor
McGovern
Wilkie
Pearce
May
McCartin
Jones
Lever

I wish the media would do a little more than go
fingernail deep on assessing the games played by Stewart. You have to largely ignore his disposals as he gets a few kick out cheapies per game, and a few across goal chippity chip cheapies per game.

Let’s put it this way .. for total disposals amongst ‘defenders’ he is 15th. For contested possessions he is 47th.

He’s a great player, and is having a solid season. But he should be nowhere near AA discussion right now. He does one good spoil in a game and the media fawn over it .. even Cats fans would admit he’s only had one exceptional game this year, and that shouldn’t have you in AA talk.

It has become a joke.

None of your other suggestions are good blokes though.

Context is a word too. People seems to forget it's meaning these days. Pretty soon the word will be wiped from woke existence.
Can't mention the C word. It makes far too much sense.

He's a clown with zero credibility. I remember hearing him on the radio when the other "expert" was saying Richmond had the steal of the century as Sydney Stack was equally as good as No. 1 pick Sam Walsh and looked like a future Brownlow Medallist. Whoever the other person was asked his thoughts. Johnson said he was looking forward to see him that weekend for the first time...... it was about round 8 or 9! Brad Johnson was voting on the rising star that year and admitted how little footy he actually watched FFS's!!!

Stack finished 3rd behind Walsh and Rozee and if not for missing the 1st couple games and breaking down later in year he probably would've won the rising star and been a premiership player.

The AA team is as big a joke as the Brownlow anyway. The number of Cats selected compared to all other teams shows its a farce. Riewoldt missed out when he was Coleman medallist, Dusty, Deledio and Vlastuin deserved more selections. Lynch should've got it in 2022.

Zac bailey has had a shocking start to the year. I'm sure he will bounce back. 12 months ago looked like becoming the lions next superstar
