So crows and power are going to have 12 home games a year for the next three years which is 11 against a travelling opponent. A home ground advantage no other club gets.

For me it felt just like another round of footy, it wasn't anything special.

As for the fixture, it's too contrived. Early season marquee games means a lot of match ups can't happen and the AFL are going to make sure no top of the table clashes happen, no derbies, no big melb club clashes, no GF replay clashes, it's a waste of time.

But the AFL get lots of money from the SA state govt.

Wankley “I don’t know what you’re clinging onto” in relation to Kingy staying onboard with Richmond.

Wankley now down grading Taranto the tool.

How can you possibly be accurate in your analysis of Richmond right now? Injuries galore whilst spending the first 6 x weeks of the season playing basically 6 x likely finals teams.

We were missing 7-8 of our best-22 and had 9 x players on the weekend with under 25-games, yet expectations were for us to beat last years Grand Finalists ….

If Cotch, Tarrant and Jack all retire at season’s end and we perhaps lose Broad to WA, and we bring in another 4 x teenagers, we will be one of the youngest teams in the comp in 2024.

Imagine in 2025 we didn’t have any of TT, Hopper, Cotchin, Prestia or Martin - and people think this would be a good list strategy ….we’d be horrendous and uncompetitive.

Went to gather round this year - got the 3 day AO pass - lucked out with undercover tickets for Saturday - SA supporters function with Shedda ahead our game a highlight along with the usual trip to Gouchos 🤤

5 games in 3 days - it’s pretty cool seeing so much live footy in such a short period of time and provides a real opportunity to review sides performances against one another

Essendon probably the stand out for mine - their marking really stood out

We are not the only team with forward hard connection issues - Melbourne really missed brown as a focal point.

Gauchos always a highlight 😁👍

Let me start by saying I’m supportive of the father / son rule, but boy doesn’t it change the fortunes of clubs purely based on luck.

Pies captain Darcy Moore. Then a generational player in Nick Daicos and his brother is not too bad either.

Cats dynasty was largely built around Hawkins, GAJ and Scarlett.

It’s a quirk and I support the rule …. but geez it’s a lottery that can change the fortunes of your club.

We got any baby boys coming through ……

Bit of a silly comment - I think there are likely 4 teams that sit above the rest ( Geelong, Swans, Pies, Dee's ) & a 2 which likely sit below ( Hawthorn & Eagles) - the rest, are all in the same pack at the moment. Either teams that have been down & on the way up, or teams that have been up and clearly on the way down.

Our draw has been fine in regards to being a reflection of where we are at. Not top 4 & in the "contention" pack with 12 others teams that are still TBA & there are 2 teams i feel 100% confident we will be above, but trying to sort through those 12 teams is a guessing game at this stage.

Injuries & suspensions are just a part of our story at this point, unfortunately- this is the cost of having an aging & ill-disciplined team - You are more than likely going to have higher odds of missing players due to injury or suspension sons as long as those 2 factors are present. Our medical team worked wonders during the dynasty years, but they have been completely overwhelmed trying to managing the fallout since

Be good to snag another Richo.

Big fan of Kingy. Always backs us. Refreshing to hear people who arent Richmond people back us and our players.

Kingy had our backs in 2013-17 when nobody rated us at all. He wasn’t 100% for everything we did but at least he wasn’t a catatstrophiser. I generally like his work.

It’s not the rule that’s the problem for me Noid, it’s the unnecessary discount attached to it. Just getting first dibs should be enough of a benefit.

So you think a good time to assess Richmond is when missing 7-8 of our best 22? And having only 3 x AFL listed players play VFL on the weekend as we have about 14 injures ?

And you say our draw has been fine … then go on to say 4 teams sit above the rest - and by end of round 6 we will have played 3 of them! Plus Crows away which looks like a really tough game. Carlton who look like making finals. And Dogs.

It’s not an ideal time to be riddled with injury and having to play 9 x players under 25-games when you’re facing the competition’s best teams.

I don’t know about you, but I’ll judge the team when we get a few players back (of course no team is ever 100% fit, but there’s a tipping point). And I’ll judge once we’ve played a wider spread of teams. It might even be post-bye, but even if this season is cooked, I’ll be optimistic on the future if we win most of our games post-bye and see even more good signs from the youngsters.

Don’t forget, after 2018 when Demons made a PF they finished second bottom I think it was in 2019. They won a flag 2-years later.

We’ve lost 1 game by more than 14-points in our last 19-games….On the weekend against last years runners-up when fielding 9 x players under 25 games. (Sydney had 4 under 25 games).

The level of panic and doom and gloom is off the charts when we are 5-games into a season and riddled with unavailability.

10 x teams out of 18 don’t make finals every …single…year. The teams sitting 1-2 on the ladder right now were 2 of those in 2022, with what looked like pretty shabby lists.

We just need to take a chill pill and realise the club knows what they’re doing.

Judge at the bye. I have us 9-1-4 or at least 8-1-5 which is a good result all things considered

8-1-5 ?? I certainly don’t expect that as we are not getting Lynch/Nank back until after the bye.

I think more likely a struggle to 5-1-8 or something like that, as I can’t see us putting together any sort of long winning streak any time soon.

After the Dees game the hardest game we have is Geelong. I’m not buying what st kilda are selling. By that stage we will be finding our rhythm. Our best footy is as good if not better than who we have played. The challenge now is to do it for longer then a Qtr which I think will happen

Agreed, on current form Bombers beat us and Port is 50/50 even at home.

My concern is that our best is only happening for a short time.

If we can start to make that more our normal play then watch out. But right now we look flakey.
