Yeah I thought it was pretty good. I watched more footy this weekend than I have in years. We have floated the idea of going next year
Went to every game at Adelaide oval. It’s a nice oval. It’s easy to get to and from.

Tickets were cheap which made it very worthwhile. The entertainment was so so but hey it’s cheap.

Lots for kids to do across the river which was free entry. You could watch the games and drink and eat there.

I’d usually do a footy trip to Melbourne every July. Expensive.

Hopefully next year they’ll mix the fixture up a bit.

wtf is this "oval"

Druggos showing how to beat Melbourne is to tag Oliver

Nothing surer than Oliver running around by himself collecting 40 next week
We don’t tag

I’m sure it’s already been said but I’ll say it again…
Why the frig is last years premiers getting a free hit in gather round.

Could have had the perfect opportunity to play Geelong v Sydney at a neutral venue. They are probably playing twice already , but still they couldn’t find a better opponent for geeelong this week than west coast?
It’s the GFL

How many possies did he get against the Druggies? :drunk:

So you think a good time to assess Richmond is when missing 7-8 of our best 22? And having only 3 x AFL listed players play VFL on the weekend as we have about 14 injures ?

And you say our draw has been fine … then go on to say 4 teams sit above the rest - and by end of round 6 we will have played 3 of them! Plus Crows away which looks like a really tough game. Carlton who look like making finals. And Dogs.

It’s not an ideal time to be riddled with injury and having to play 9 x players under 25-games when you’re facing the competition’s best teams.

I don’t know about you, but I’ll judge the team when we get a few players back (of course no team is ever 100% fit, but there’s a tipping point). And I’ll judge once we’ve played a wider spread of teams. It might even be post-bye, but even if this season is cooked, I’ll be optimistic on the future if we win most of our games post-bye and see even more good signs from the youngsters.

Don’t forget, after 2018 when Demons made a PF they finished second bottom I think it was in 2019. They won a flag 2-years later.

We’ve lost 1 game by more than 14-points in our last 19-games….On the weekend against last years runners-up when fielding 9 x players under 25 games. (Sydney had 4 under 25 games).

The level of panic and doom and gloom is off the charts when we are 5-games into a season and riddled with unavailability.

10 x teams out of 18 don’t make finals every …single…year. The teams sitting 1-2 on the ladder right now were 2 of those in 2022, with what looked like pretty shabby lists.

We just need to take a chill pill and realise the club knows what they’re doing.

The poster is so negative about Richmond I don't even bother responding anymore Noid. Bagging the team constantly when we lose allows them to be perceived as being "see, I told you so" right if things don't go well, but they can still enjoy the "well, this is a pleasant surprise" benefits of success when they're wrong. Like one of those blokes who weekly tips against his own team with the mentality that he can't lose. Footy's equivalent of a collaborator.

Gary Ablett Senior suing the afl for brain damage. A bit rich given how much drugs he possibly did
I recall a workmate coming into work midweek (within the footy season) mentioning Gary was flaked out on his couch after a housemate brought him home after a bender .

It's the old pessimists' hedge bet.
"The world's gonna end."
And the day after.
"Ain't it great it didn't".
Their logic is they never lose.
But in truth, their lack of true allegiance means they never really win.

For example, Richmond triple-premiership player Jason Castagna, who made a shock retirement in February ahead of the season, couldn't be replaced by the Tigers with a mid-season selection until the process is tightened.
Just in case RFC want him back we better change the rules.

The corrupters are running this game into the ground and with a Tassie team coming in it’s only going to get worse all these new teams in gws and fold coast now Tassie will ruin the whole game and make it totally unwatchable and unsupported it deserves everything it gets
I understand the GCS and GWS because we need a national competition and the additional television revenue covers the cost of startup. It’s the clubs like North and the Saints who cannot sustain themselves in a football state like Victoria that annoys me. There used to be a club called West Melbourne that North merged with then shut down. AFL should force North and the Dogs merger and restart West Melbourne. So much money and talented players get wasted on these Victorian clubs that are not set up to be successful

They should start a new club with Moppey as President and RJK Tiger as CEO. Both can be coaches and selectors and also list managers since they are the best in the business. :)

So crows and power are going to have 12 home games a year for the next three years which is 11 against a travelling opponent. A home ground advantage no other club gets.

For me it felt just like another round of footy, it wasn't anything special.

As for the fixture, it's too contrived. Early season marquee games means a lot of match ups can't happen and the AFL are going to make sure no top of the table clashes happen, no derbies, no big melb club clashes, no GF replay clashes, it's a waste of time.

Maybe head down. It will change your opinion for sure. The Fomo is real

It's cute how you guys take the reality that the team has dropped to a different level so personally. Chin up buddy - it's all just a ride
