You do have to laugh at how all the media is jumping that Dimma will be coaching them, while it is possible he did say he wanted time off, Though also the talk by their board doesn't reflect well on their stability, would Dimma really want to go to a club that will just dump him when they don't make finals?

To be honest, who would want to coach them, No members, not much of a history etc. The only reason would be the large amount of Cash the afl will help with.

Dimma coaching gold coast is probably best case scenario, much more palatable for him to be coaching a nothing club as oppossed to another melbourne club or a contender, would be dissapointed if he raids richmond for staff/players though

My fear though is that it came from the AFL in an effort to destabilise Dews position. Mark Evans didn’t know or is a bald faced liar and must go.

In any event the next coach and anyone he takes with him must build their own structure to protect from this sort of behaviour. It’s no wonder the whole thing is a failure.

Can’t begrudge Dimma making a move for a new challenge after 14 years and achieving everything. How it played out better for both the club and him

I don’t begrudge Dimma either, I’m very grateful for everything he’s given of himself, the sacrifices he’s made and the role he played in delivering 3 fantastic premierships!

Gee I'm in the minority I guess - I want Gold Coast to succeed and I want GWS to succeed.

As an ex-pat Victorian who moved to Sydney to live 30 years ago I have an interest in seeing the game I love succeed and advance into markets that currently have a heavy NRL domination - because I believe our game to be superior.
The thinning out of the talent pool does not concern me too much and I understand that to succeed in often hostile and difficult markets concessions need to be made - I do not own a tin foil hat.

If Dimma ends up at the Gold Coast I will actually look forward to seeing him work with the talent they have there and assuming he has success, I will be happy for him.

I would much rather a Dimma led Gold Coast win a flag or two in the next 8 years than watch knob jockey Scott win another for the Cats or his doppelganger win one for the Drugs or our old mate Fly win multiple ones for the Pie's.....

Could do but both Trent and Jack seem to be well entrenched in Melbourne. Jack looks like he'll move into a media role on retirement.
