Cox has amazing skills for a 211cm player. I'd back his career highlights package to look every bit as good as Hawkins. Speccies, running goals, snaps, baulks, quick hands and an arrogant strut when he is on. You don't win prelim finals for your team and get best on in two Queens Birthday clashes when you have no skill or ability.

Also - Hawkins referred to in the sentence as Buddy, Riewoldt, J.Brown.

You could probably put a highlights package showing DeGoey or the Daicos brothers looking as good as Gary Ablett Junior. But no sane person will agree that they could even be mentioned in the same sentence.

That says more about Buckley than Cox. He should have been playing. He has been excellent throughout our winning run and a major reason for our success. You don't play close to 100 games and kick one hundred goals if you don't have a level of consistency in your output.

Some clubs ( but admittedly without watching all their games ) seem to make unusual or odd choices at times

Like Cox - everyone saw his game against the Tigers in that PF - and allways seemed to be a nice o/head mark - and a reliable kick for goal

Then you look up last year and hes in the 2nds - and you think whats happening

Gunston is another one ( caused Geel a bit of grief at times ) a class forward - yet a couple of years back - you look up the Haw side - and hes playing in the back pocket - deep in defence - and you cant work it out - hes no harm or threat to any side their

Showing highlights of a player is obviously showing him at his best but you still have to take marks with your knee on an opponent's shoulder or kick the goal from the boundary before it can be highlighted and he has done that and so much more on a number of occasions. He has the ability to perform when the stakes are at their highest and the G is a cauldron of noise and passion. That's another great quality. He has come from a long way back and it is the endless knocking of the man which blows my mind. He does things a 211 cm player should never do and deserves more credit for doing so.

Maybe I'm sensitive as I have a lot of my own eye issues, but I wouldn't pick on Cox about his goggles. The guy has had way too many eye injuries and surgeries, miserable stuff.
