We overpaid slightly but we clearly wanted him and our list management team have enough credits in the bank for me to trust them.

I'm happy to have him. I assume we've kept enough points in the bank to take Jones and Schofield so I'm content.
Times 2. I have faith in our recruiting team. A small gamble that has the potential for significant upside. We need Rozee, Butters and Houston to spend more time architecting play in midfield. Boak, Wines and Rockliff are extractors (with SPP) - all 3 at stoppages is where we need to change.

Come on guys. Pick 29 is a very speculative pick. You may get someone who is a good player but no guarantee and still need to develop then. Plus this pick is likely to slide into the 30's in a compromised draft with most Vic potential draftees sliding into next year with no 2020 exposure because of COVID.

I welcome a proven AFL player with runs on the board and fits our 2020 game plan, fast and furious. Sure he has had injury concerns but I back our medical team to first have assessed his injuries and then able to manage them.

I think the point is being made that under the Academy bidding rules we would probably have been forced to spend the 29 pick matching an opposition bid on Lachie Jones. If we were never going to get the chance to use the 29 pick there is no point in speculating who we might have used it on.

I just hope Fantasia turns out OK for us. I would dispute the assertion that Fantasia is a proven AFL player. He has had a couple of good years but he has had some ordinary years as well.

We’ll deal with next year when it comes
Been a bit of this rhetoric. I don't think that's how strategic list management works.

If we get Jones this year it all looks ok, but it leaves our trade capital and options for next year thinner. In a year that we have more F/S picks and a draft we're keen on...

I don't think we can rely on getting more picks for fringe players for good value, as the opposition would start to know we are reasonably desperate and don't have other options.

Well see I guess. It's not the end of the world but it's certainly overs.

One of our 3 rucks and a couple of the many half backs will surely be trade bait next year and improve our draft options. Lycett, Bonner, Lienert, Garner most likely candidates?
Lol that lot is worth nothing. We would be lucky to get offered pick 88 for lienert or Garner. Could we get much for bonner? Will he want to leave Sa? A 29yr old lycett?

You never know, could even be Wines, you just never know.
if wines leaves our inside mid stocks would have been decimated and we would have to go all in on replacing him somehow.

That means we should get more channel 7 games next year as Brian Taylor is dying to call him.

I think this is a good pick up as he has pace and can finish in front of goal. Didn't cost much in the end. Losing draft picks this year isn't a bad thing considering how tough the draft is going to be without scouting talent due to Covid restrictions.

A genuine small forward with speed and goal kicking nous - great!!

Welcome Orazio.

Has a Power player ever been booed by our own fans? This guy could be the first...
He's across the line now so we have to get behind him regardless of whether or not we overpaid.

There is a chance he could be very good for us. I'd say it clearly wasn't worth the punt at the price, but at this point you just have to hope it pays off.

Sure you don't have any more thoughts on Orazio's race to bless us with?

Maybe you could let us know what you think of Sudanese people while you're here so we know whether Aliir was a good pick up?
