Interesting to see how Carlton and Melbourne go next week. That was an epic battle and both sides will be stuffed. Lucky they only have Gold Coast and Hawthorn, but after Port and ourselves dropped the next 2 after our epic battle, don't be surprised if we have some upsets.

At least we have locked in top 2 at worst, but probably top spot.

We aren’t leaving Melb. That’s a pretty good finals draw. They don’t concern me at all. We can beat anyone
i know our best is good enough
but ive seen plenty of flags that were decided by a bit of luck
personally, id like to see brisbane have to travel as much as possible
in my mind they are the biggest threat and the so called mcg curse is blown way out of proportion
they have more depth than previous years

Ideally we win next we to lock away the minor premiership, and also to push Brisbane down to 4th. Would rather not face the Dees in the QF, as it negates our home advantage and also means a loss and we'd be forced to go thru Brisbane or Adelaide. Would rather not play Carlton in a semi as well if it came to it

Ladder predictor is telling me that Carlton can still drop as low as 11th with results all going against them.

One win from Port in their remaining three (of which they play two at home) is all that’s needed to stop Carlton getting top 4.

Carlton are looking likely to finish 5th and host an elimination final that they will likely win. But then they’ll meet a top 4 side at home which will 50% be interstate. They have to win that.

Then they have to beat another top 4 side that’s rested.

And then then win the GF. It can be done but it’s a very difficult route and only the dogs have managed it in this final 8 system.

The low scoring was due to the enormous intensity of the game. With Petty and Fritch back Melbourne will be very dangerous up forward and Carlton have Mckay to come back as well. Both teams will be a bloody handful in the finals.
Petty is done for the season and McKay is a crab 🦀. Carlton play Better without him tbh. Neither concern me.

Carlton have Suns away. If I were into betting I'd back them to lose that provided the Suns have a crack.

Was a similar intensity to our game against Port. But that was in the wet. And we travelled. And played 6 days later when Carlton was lucky enough to meet us.

With Melbourne losing tonight it’s quite likely we will play them in the qualifying final.I don’t really like this to be honest.I would much rather play Port in the first week of the finals with the home ground advantage it gives us.Playing Melbourne gives us no home ground advantage at all.

Look at it this way. Forget who we play. We won’t leave Melb. Other results are irrelevant. The start of the 2023 season. If someone said we’d finish top 4 and never leave the MCG, you’d be one happy camper

I think it’s too early to tell.

Unless Port turn their form slump around, they are most likely going to finish 4th.

If we beat Brisbane, expect to meet Port week one. That’s the most likely scenario. But there’s still too much to play out.

If we lose to Brisbane but beat Essendon, same.

Winning at least one more and finishing top is all we can control.

2nd through 4th can still change quite a bit. Including the possibility Carlton displaces Port.

Absolutely, we’ve secured top two and home finals. The club are in a great position to manage tired and injured player in the next month. Fly has been here before as a player. He will have the players in top condition mentally and physically. Collllinnngwoooood!

If, come the last round, Melb need to beat the Swans to finish third instead of fourth, I’m putting the house on the Swans (assuming we’re first).

Still possible to drop to third behind port assuming some big margins.

Port would have to win their last 2 games by like, 100 points per game (lol)

We'd then have to lose both our games by like...10 goals plus

Think they would find it hard to beat them anyway especially with Sydney likely to be playing for a spot in the 8. But under that scenario no chance they will win.

They could just as easily finish third and have to go to the GABBA for their qualifying final.
