Ladder predictor is telling me that Carlton can still drop as low as 11th with results all going against them.

How?

I just did a ladder predictor and 8th seems to be the lowest.

But I didn't do any margins, so I guess they'd need to lose by decent-ish margins to miss the 8?

Disagree on soft call for goal reviews. It's needed. Reviews were brought in to eliminate howlers not those where you can maybe tell on the vision if you squint just right. Keep the human element and go with the onfield umps if the vision is not definitive. Same protocol the cricket has been using for many years.

Cricket uses different protocols for different situations. For run outs and stumpings, which are probably the most similar in that the umpire is the one calling for the review, there is no soft signal and it's totally decided by the third umpire.

The whole point of score review is to take human error out of the equation, instead we have a review system that’s afraid to over rule the umps and defer to them anyway rubber stamping the very errors it’s supposed to eliminate. A more pointless system you could not design.

It's odd. The goal umpire is the one who calls for the review - because they don't know whether or not it was touched. So we go with the guess of the bloke who doesn't know if it was touched?

Agree would need a combo of big losses plus big wins. It’s unlikely but possible. Hence to p 2 isn’t locked in.
