On paper we have a solid midfield... but that is not the case as our defence did their part against the blues. Hopper, TT feel like the only genuine mids in the side.

Our midfield is slow, poorly skilled and underdeveloped. It's a terrible midfield tbh, needs a lot of work.

I’d give back 10 of Taranto’s to hit one target or put us in a favourable position. Just butchers it!

I think we get a very good player with our first pick.
It’s the following picks I hope we nail. It’ll be gold if we can find another elite mid, or even a couple of really solid B graders to go with FOS or Smith or Lalor etc
There’s a couple of guns the following year too, Sharp or Rodriguez would do nicely

It is beyond important for the list that we nail this years trade period first, that can set us up for a huge 2-3 year charge at the draft.

As would Durham , kept going to the old cupboard when it was apparent to all there best had long left the building . Prestia , Lambert , Sheds all wonderful servants of the club BUT in sheds and Lamberts cases their last 2-3 seasons they slowed dramatically and were let go on for too long . Prestia hasn’t been any good for 3-4 .

battlers at best who have no elite trait and lack leg speed and kicking penetration which is only going to get worst as they get further into their career . Likewise Graham .
Ross is the best midfielder the club currently has on its list and they ****ed him around for 3 years playing him in other roles . Could currently be in the top 2-3 midfielders in the comp .

Bolton has leg speed , McIntosh endurance , broad defensive good . Short is an outside receiver .
A bloke in the stands shit faced hurling abuse has more hurt factor than hopper and Taranto . Those two getting stats =‘shit team result

It looks as though this year and next will have depth.

This may seen a daft idea, but with Blight doing so well and Gibcus to return, could we train Balta as a mid. He is powerful and explosive and does well as a ruck/ruck rover when he is in there. Might drop a few kg's and work on endurance over summer.

Go back to his debut game/year. If I recall correctly he had 27 possies as an inside mid and was playing good footy until he went out with a foot injury - was an emergency for the GF and could have played in place of Pickett in the midfield.
Dimma and Co tried to then turn him into a winger and made him lose weight.

His stretch of games at the start of this year when given an opportunity in the midfield, he performed very well. Had the running capacity from being used on the wing, skill-wise had gone to another level, much more composed in traffic. All very much pointing to the missing "class and poise".

Not an A-grader yet, but might turn into one if he ever gets out of Meehan's dungeon.
Please just let us have some hope haha.
