Yze in town again for another "interview"? The third one?

I'd say he's going to be at the club.
Has he been doorstopped by Tiny Tom Rehn this time ??

Surely he's here for a press conference.

No, Nicks wouldn’t move away from the path to Head Coach

Who said he would be?

Fagan was head of the hawks coaching department prior to getting the Brisbane job. It's not unprecedented.

Would Stone leave Glenelg for another assistant job ??
If it was a role such as Senior assistant or Director of Coaching and he and Yze were both content with the understanding of the combination then we would have 2 excellent pillars to build something and fast track this reconstruction of the club .

Depends. Senior assistant he might. Pretty big promotion all things considered.
One of the reasons I'm against promoting from within (aside from the boys club argument) is that you need to dangle a carrot to get the most talented people to your club. The head coaching & GM roles are two highly sought after positions. We don't often get an opportunity like this. If we do this right we could totally reinvigorate the culture at this club. If we're too conservative though, we might **** our club for the next 2-3 years.

This would be my thinking regarding Stone. Has he actually been mentioned in any serious capacity though?

I have some information land on my desk this afternoon:

The preferred candidate has met with Don Pyke in the last week & is now awaiting on actions pending the review, initial recommendations have been released and concern’s that had been raised from the previous coach that are potentially impacting the future of this role has now been unpacked.
But all that is awaiting is contract agreement’s, the holdup is partly to do with the future of current members in the football department that is a conflicting and atypical issue to address.

I have more to share on this but will let the hunter’s & gatherers have their moment.

I don't think he's been mentioned by the media at all. I wouldn't rule him out though. The club picked up Mattner and Godden and Stone's achievement with Glenelg is arguably more impressive and he's got more AFL coaching experience than those two as well.

Yze is the preferred candidate.

Concerns passed on:
1) member's in the football department had condeflicting opinions that too offen clash.
2) lack of freedom to coach, too many organizational constraints

The boy's club rumour is real, fresh air is needed.
These concerns have been adressed with a corrective action plan & finacial increase in the offer.

The media a preparing to have a field day with the AFC, the club is better prepared and will recover better than the AFL community give credit for. This alone adds risk to a new coach.

Wait and see, what will happen in the next 2 month's will be impressive and start a new thread of it's own.

This is my last post in the coaching thread so you can all relax. I'll drift out as quick as I drifted in.

This will be a 2 year rebuilding process.

Have faith
