The lack of club nomination from Houston is also intriguing. I wonder if Port have said to him we will let you walk to a Vic club but it will be the one who gives us the best deal. You nominate a club there’s no deal.

Not getting Houston isn't the end of the world. (No doubt that won't apply on here with the amount crying already done by some)

But what i can tell you after a little gossip this weekend in the big smoke:

Pies have a hand shake agreement with GCS on Pick 13 going Pies way in the deal.
Pies won't have a first next year regardless. So if for some reason, they don't get Pick 13. There is still multiple options on the table to get into the draft.
Fly wants Houston badly, but like Leppa, is very much concerned about hitting the draft.

They've also had a little word to Joe Richards that IF (IF) a trade doesn't get done for Houston, would he be comfortable staying on the 3 year deal. He didn't say no.. Putting pressure back on Port Adelaide.

This is while Carlton are also the same. Couple want Houston, couple want to go to the draft.
If Carlton get Houston, their cap will be under pressure to deliver success (TDK will get millions offered to him).

Gold Coasts deal with us for 13 is not dependant on our deal for Houston. Port made a monster offer to Perryman and had Lukosious coming too before Perryman chose to come to the pies. They have the cap space for both, and we will want 13 as a part of the Noble deal regardless of what happens with Houston.

These walking to players to the draft very rarely happens. Clubs generally try to a deal in some capacity, as walking to someone to the draft just provides angst toward players, player managers, clubs for next time a manager has a player the club is interested in.
