Nonch will there be expanded coverage on the league this year given the number of games to be covered each week....
Wouldn't think there'd be much more slim, given there will still only be two of us doing it. And with my mate playing at Hoppers now I'd say I will be spending a lot more time watching O&M. We'll be running the liftout again and working hard to chat to as many sides as possible, but if there is anyone out there who can string a few sentences together and wants to submit club reports it certainly wouldn't hurt!

I will add though Pliz that the sooner the money runs out from some of these clubs the better off we will all be......As I said before with some blokes don't play footy for money and some clubs just don't seem to be able to get that through their heads.....And apparently they're having a crack at some of yours too....

Yes from what I hear there has been a few clubs from over that way offering some of our blue boys ridiculous amounts of money to try and lure them away from home, luckily though it looks like it hasn't worked on any of them! A figure thrown at one player was $600 a game, now I will admit that I may be a little old fashioned in the way I think, but I can not understand how anyone can think that any player in the O&K is worth HALF that amount! We are very lucky out here Slim that we do have a large group of those players that you speak of, they dont play footy for money, otherwise we would have been in a lot of strife when those vultures started to circle! But as you have said, money will run out eventually!!!!!

Theres some "average" to say the least players going to Tatong for more coin a week than they are worth all year . Do these blokes do any home work Slim or are they just F'n stupid.
i think desperate is more like it. numbers is what they are after, and they are obviously prepared to do what it takes to get them. even if they are offering spuds money. THis isnt good for the comp or the community but they just need to survive!

I still haven't heard a valid reason why the B&D was shut down.
It was the same as all leagues outside the AFL, where people play to their ability and fitness level

I don't understand how come we are so dirty on the new clubs. Haven't they got the right to have a football club in there community. Remember this decision was forced on them aswell and all they are doing is trying to survive and think that is all they will be trying to do for the next three years. I also hope that we are not going to judge there success soley on a win/loss ratio. There facilities will be ok and I think that there hospitality will be warm and welcoming. Lets give these clubs a chance and encourage them still be apart of our league in 5 years time because they have a huge job infront of them and if they do survive it can only be a positive.
I don’t think the hostility is towards individual clubs, the issue is more so with the vcfl's inability to make a tough decisions when it counted, leaving the o&K to pick up the pieces. These clubs need to wake up and see that the only sustainable option is to merge. No one wants to swallow there pride and combine with a rival but it is the only way they will keep any identity going forward. Perfect example being Devenish, no one is ever going to hold a cup up for them again in any way shape or form. Until this happens these clubs will struggle and drag the rest of the league down until they eventually fold.
I am in no way saying that the 10 “o&k” clubs are immune from this either.

Mate if some of the rumoured money offerings are even half true they arnt doing themselves any favours in trying to survive , average seconds players are always going to be average seconds players and should be paid accordingly , that means they should be paying the club to pay. At least if your going to offer good money throw it at players who are worth it.

Not sure where you get your figures from but I'm of the understanding from all the new clubs that they're looking for the long haul and most definitely not pimping themselves out to footy prostitutes who are looking for the most cash.
These new clubs have a long way to get to the O&K level on all fronts... And certainly would not the be the first or even the last to have rumours (real or not) of untold amounts being thrown at average players. I bet all current clubs have had the same issues at some time or another

We'll call it coincidence then GO that players from 2 clubs are quoting the same amount they were ALLEGEDLY offered...... But as you said there idiots out there who do try to play clubs off against each other and average players in top sides who are made to look better than what they really are....I'm a firm believer though that if a player is being paid then his performance and payments should be reviewed every 3 weeks or at least 4 times a season....
Few clubs would be looking at a praccy match or two outside of the o&K round robbin thing.
Blacks are planning to play Violet Town for the Hayes/Plum Cup and also maybe a bit of a hitout agianst Moyhu one night.
