When a team wins by 6 or 7 goals there is a fair chance the winning team are going to get most of the votes. The fact is he didn't kick 10 goals and if the rules had been interpreted correctly he would have only had 3,then would the person giving the votes have included him.? I thought Mitch Carroll was solid all day and if a Raider was going to get a vote probably Mossop or Doolan. And just to clear the air this is not an attempt to bag Matt Fowler who is a nice bloke and a damn good footballer.

I thought the votes were okay. I thought Luke Carroll could even have pinched a vote, he was great down back when the Tigers were under the pump, and then instramental when going into the middle after half-time, but when you've got a forward who has kicked 3 more than the next best on his team and 4 more than any opposing forward, it's obvious he was the dominant forward on the ground. He did miss a couple of sitters and should have had at least 8. Everyone is going to view it differently on how he came about getting the ball, personally, I thought he was on the end of some pretty good delivery, which hasn't always been the case this season.

Raiders had some good players pushing for votes, but the likes of Way, Doolan and Kahlfeldt who had plenty of it in the first half, were barely sighted after the main break. Mossop I thought was a good contributor, but the fact that he didn't hurt Albury on the scoreboard lessens his impact.

It is all going very well. I am missing footy. I don't think that I would have had much to give this year but I am really missing it. Loved reading that Jackson Powell had a crack at senior level.

No chance at all
i think thats a bit of a ridiculous comment. looking at both squads, sure yarra are better on paper, its that old cliche' anything can happen on the day, surely a team thats beaten 4th (wod on the wend) by 40 points and when they kicked 20 behinds themselves, and a team that beat 3rd (nth albury) fairly comfortably with 17 players will have a some sort of chance beating the undefeated yarra.
i dono what everyone elses thoughts are? should be a great game, especially in the midfield!!

Everyone has different opinions raidrboy but i think they should give the votes to the most influential players on the ground and i would include Fowler in the top 3.

Hi all,
This is my 1st post on here, i only just discovered that there was a forum on the mighty ovens and murray footy league. I pay very close attention to the league as i played over 150 games (majority reserves) its great to keep up to date with how the boys are doing.

I've just got one question, maybe its already been asked so bear with me.
Why is there only 1 thread with over 140 pages, most forums i get on post individual threads with their own topic, this way the discussion stays on topic. There may be a legitimate reason, just interested.

obviously a dislike for lawrence, care to elaborate!did he do somethin to your sister you didint like?

I honestly meant what I said. Lawrence who? Would not have a clue who this bloke is and I live in Sydney. To be honest don't care either so lets move on. Maybe I was a bit harsh with the cat thing seems I don't know the bloke. Must be a bit of a deviout judging by the 'sister' jibe but good luck to him.

Not much has been spoken about Wang Rovers.
They started poorly, but has bounced back to win 3 in a row,can they make the finals?
Their 3 wins have been over Myrtleford,Lavington & yesterday beat 3rd placed North Albury by nearly 10 goals at North Albury!
I went to yesterday's game and the performance of Peter Cristoforo was brilliant,he only kicked 3 but was pivital in the victory.
He doesnt seem to be kicking the bags like last year he is playing more up the field and on the ball, where he has injected some experiance and hardness and ability to win a contested ball in that middle and up the ground, something Rovers have lacked.

Jess Silver has been a great pick up and kicked a few himself - this is where the Rovers have improved, adding another goalkicker to that one pronged forward line of last year.not to mention Taylor,Raven and Andy Hill.
The rovers 3rd quarter was the game breaker, keeping North Albury scorless while kicking 5 themsleves.

Anyone think they are better than the first few months suggested?

Of course Rovers are better than they were early.
They have learnt how to kick goals and not points. They cost themselves a couple of games early in the season by some poor kicking.
The OM is an extremely tight competition as the ladder suggests and teams have to be close to their best every week or they stand the chance of being beaten.
Take Wang for example.
Three rounds ago they lost to Albury who were out of the five and last Sat they rolled the reigning premiers and flag favourites by nearly 10 goals.
Albury is now in the five.
Wang Rovers have won three in a row against Myrtleford, Lavington and North Albury.
The last two are big scalps, but Lavington was without two of their best five players, McKimmie and Pendergast, and North Albury was without Hodgson and Hilton, two of their best 10 players.
Rovers are pretty much at full strength, but they don't do the draw and they have finally struck a bit of form which was deserting them early.
They play Yarrawonga on the rebound this week.
Will be a good test for the Hawks.

I went to Lavi v Albury on Sunday and was surprised to see Tim Sanson struggling to even mark the footy. I notice he was wearing a back brace, is this injury the reason he can't get near it, or is it time someone tapped him on the shoulder. A shame to see such a great player playing like that.
