...but want to be the away team..

Got no idea, but this is going to be the biggest waste of money in every sense. Zero interest in the game from the locals. Not even sure they'll show up if the tickets get given away. Suns will likely benefit more due to their colour scheme being the Chinese national colours, but that whole interest may sell a guernsey or three. Nothing against the concept, but it's the wrong market.
Blah! Blah! Blah! Vboy, you making shit up again o_O

Does anybody actually know who the sponsor is? Must be money well spent:drunk:
Well, there seems some confusion surrounding that.

Koch wanted this ....

But got this

PORT Adelaide Football Club president David Koch was cracking gags when he scouted Shanghai Stadium in April, including the line he wanted the tarps over the press desks tossed out.
His face on entering the old Shanghai Stadium — now known as Jiangwan Stadium — on Thursday afternoon suggested he felt the joke was on him.
“We’re not playing here,” Koch said of the 1935 colosseum that today is a golf driving range (it is 330 metres long) and has four amateur soccer pitches
side by side on the vast site of 37,500 square metres.
Well, seems they ARE playing there.

But they've forged ahead with the grand plan.:thumbsu:
Cost of the BackYard Blitz on that heap of shit, who knows. Cost of shipping over 24 average players, probably not that much. Cost of shipping over the hangers on, probably more.

Then you've junket after junket - a grand lunch was held, looked to be about 80 people and the "Open to the World" slogan put out there.

So not sure how much the sponsorship is, but surely even the smartest "sponsor" would prefer to watch Bulldogs V GWS at the MCG if it truly is the game they profess to love, and not using this whole thing as a "soft diplomacy" tactic.
Either way, if it's a success the AFL will hijack it, if it's a flop, Pear will own the whole shooting match, and the rest of the clubs will once again bail them out.:D

Keep melting shitcakes you argument is null, it doesn't matter who's home game it is.

I think it does.
GC have China sponsors - could get hijacked by Huawei and Metricon

I did ...obviously you didn't. :D:D:D

I read where it said
The Suns have confirmed they will be Port Adelaide's hosts for the match, after the Power announced last week they would be the first to play a match in the world's most populated country.

That's all she wrote sunshine !
