I put this in Drummond's Day 1 thread at about 7am before I went back to sleep and explained how I calculated it at post #156 in the thread.

In there I said I have been looking for 25 years for this sort of table but never found it so I thought bugger it I will give it a crack here this Olympics.

Drummond do you want me to put it as the last post of Day X thread or after your opening post of Day X+1 thread?

To the left is national medal count, to the right is medal count to individuals for that nation.

I saw Sam McClure on last night and it nearly ruined the Olympic movement for me.
I assumed he made some laboured point about a potential controversial issue.

Wondering what the bloody hell is in those boxes they hand out to medalists on the podium?

Its a poster. But wait there is more after they get off the podium.

But there is one intriguing element: a reward given to the medal-winning athletes at the same time as their precious medals. Here are some explanations.

During the ceremonies for the Olympic winners at the Paris 2024 Olympics, the athletes on the podium are presented with their medals. During this ceremony, they are also presented with another gift, one that many find mysterious. It was a box measuring around forty centimetres containing the official poster for the event. The poster, designed by Ugo Gattoni, was not the only gift given to the medallists.

After the ceremony (and not on the podium), they also receive a gold, silver or bronze medal-winning mascot. They are made in France at the Doudou & Compagnie factory in La Guerche-de-Bretagne. Gold, silver or bronze medals are represented by the medal emblem sewn onto the mascot's belly, by the colour of the trainers and by the text "Bravo" in French on the back of the Phryge.

The app interface is horrible/not user friendly. 7’s one for the last games was miles better.

Additionally the official app is an interface designed in 2005. Much harder to check and follow results than it should be.
Stan is really good

Flicked over to Gem and heard John Harker calling the water polo. Must be his 8th or 9th games getting that gig. probably means he will double up and do the boxing again.

There are simply way too many gold medals handed out in the pool

Freestyle, backstroke, medley, relays etc all over different distances that the same people compete in

I mean Carl Lewis and Usain Bolt are the greatest athletes of recent generations and have a quarter of the gold of Phelps
You'd hate gymnastics...

They could've also ran in the 400m.. or taken up the 110m hurdles... that's how different the swimming disciplines are.. Lewis and Bolt lacking the ability or moreso the work ethic to do so is on them.

I'd like to see Bolt in the 50k walk
