Probably the best result anyway. Nowhere to hide when the Blues lose their last two

I'd take yortu view a tad more seriously if your mob weren't lining up for the last game of the season- maybe you and the tugger supporter in here with such strong 'feelings' - have slight conflicts of interest to declare?

You're allowed to jump at the ball. Watch a game and you'll see it happen all the time.
You’re also allowed to bump. You’re also allowed to slide along the ground knees first.
However, where your opponent is and whether your action is dangerous to an opponent matters.
Cripps knew Ah Chee was there. He chose to jump. Into Ah Chee. But apparently allowed to do that and hit the head.
for this week at least.

The contact aspect of the sport is fine. The issue is he jumped for a ball that was already on the downward trajectory and he was coming in second to the contest and chose to jump. As soon as he chose to jump then it was an issue and he became liable.

The fact he got of on a technicality is bullshit and the AFL have huge egg on their face because of this.
Ah Chee jumped for the ball after Cripps. So should he be liable?

Sorry I care for head injuries
Everybody cares about head injuries. But sometimes they are the result of incidental contact. Matt Kennedy was concussed and fractured his cheek against the Crows because of incidental contact. Happens to players all the time. 100% it is unfortunate but it is the product of AFL being a contact sport

Did you make a song and dance back in round 1 re Rioli and Rowell? I'd love to know how passionate you were back then

Well we look forward to your stance when a Collingwood player is on the same page as Cripps was
it already happened and Maynard wasn’t afforded the same fate because he isn’t a brownlow favourite and doesn’t wear navy blue

Ah Chee was first to the ball so your argument is mute. But to humour you, imagine the damage to Ah Chee if he hadn’t jumped?
he has a duty of care to look after himself- as well - the way he approached that contest was trying to milk a free - pretty obvious

The amount of clowns in here that still don't get that the tribunal *ed up is why he got off. The AFL aren't saying the action was okay but their lawyers s**t the bed and Cripps got off on a technicality.
What technicality is that?

Anyone remember this shit:

"the player doesn't have the right to contest the ball without any limits and without any obligations"

"what you can't do is leave your opponent concussed with your actions"

For the legal buffs and admittedly this source is a Carlton fan and a lawyer provides a good summary of why the appeal was allowed. Basically not presenting the evidence that he was bumping Ah Chee not contesting it so that Cripps lawyer or Cripps could argue against it and then relying on it to reject Cripps appeal was a legal **** up by the AFL.
