I thought he struggled early, but as the game wore on his ability to keep getting to contests was really important.
I thought he was ok, but he's not at his best. WHE will be a threat for his spot in his current form. He can do what Pat's doing at greater pace and with better aerial ability. Still working his way back though, so we might give him time.

It’s the ground balls he’s timid in.
Maybe its the shoulder he’s protecting - not sure.

To the extent that he isn't fully committed, the shoulder could well explain it.

I'm not sure about timid, but his commitment to the footy below his knees is questionable. He fumbles them an incredible amount

I certainly didn't think his handling of the ball stood out relative to other players last night, but might pick it up in other games.

If it comes down to a choice between the 2, I'm sticking with Lipinski. I don't see WHE aerial ability. I see him dropping a lot of marks and is always fumble. I prefer Lipinski's link up play than WHE running around like a headless chook

Add Ginn to that as well prefer Lipinski ahead of those two.

That said Lipinski played better as game went on but lacks pace and horrible below his knees
I thought he slowed down and few chains yesterday and yes, he was bad below his knees. I have to admit though, when the pressure is on in the last quarter, he seems to always make good decisions

Yeah, this.

I think he's been improving every week, developing other elements to his game. This week he had a season high number of clearances, season high kicking efficiency (80%) and effective disposals. Happy to give him time.

I'm always intrigued by folks that speak in absolutes. No player is either 'elite' or 'shit' all the time. There are always flucuations in form and output for everyone. Lippa's best is great and when at his best he will keep most others vying for his position out of the team. We must remember that he is only a few weeks back from a serious shoulder injury and will have fluctuations in form. He needs to play to continue his improvement and confidence for the business end of the season.

Wouldn't mind sending him to VFL to find some form and finally give Fin Macrae some game time
They play different roles so that won’t happen. If you’re looking to replace Lipinski it would be one of WHE, Carmichael or Ginnivan. If you’re hoping to see Macrae get a gig the only chance now is injury or a call to go against Mitchell. Even then I think they’d make the same decision as they would on Lipinski.

His best is very good but he has not displayed his best the season or even close to it. He is also 6 games returned not a few...
He is well out of form and not hitting the ground ball contests how an AFL player should or looking anything like last year's version.

Lipstick needs a spell in the two’s for a bit I think. Was rushed back in because of our injury list when he came back and has barely added any value to the squad since.

What gripe did people have against Lippa? None nearly everyone have been fans of his, when players struggle for form people will call it out.
He's been s**t this year, that's just blunt truth.
He struggled with the pace early and if you marked his card at quarter time, I'd agree with you. But by the end of the game, he'd had 20 possessions at 80% - 10 contested with 4 clearances and most importantly had just kept getting to contests, creating or stopping a plus one around the contest - in a game where many other players were outrun. He was important to that win. He's in absolutely no danger at all.

Was probably our best linkup player by the end. Took a game high 7 marks. Next most for us was McStay with 4.
Yep. I was a doubter. His card was marked at quarter time by many fans and the last three quarters of his game ignored. However, in those last three quarters he was very good.

Don't worry too much, domus doesn't accept other people's opinions if they don't align with his own.

In fairness to the domicile, how many people accept the opinion of other people when these don't align with their own views?

Isn't that the nature of disagreement?

In most cases I would say that the man is wrong. In relation to the Lip I would say that he's right.

I like WHE and think he has had a really solid year but I also thought Lipinsky was a good contributor on Saturday night. It's going to be a heartbreaking time for a few players come September.

Just re-watched the 2nd qtr and wrote down every play he and his opponent were involved in. It was a mixed bag but no where near as positive as you portray.
I will do the 2nd half later, the issue with one watch through as a general watch is mistakes stand out much more then regular play that can be innocuous which i need to remind myself at times.
