Checks medical file and notes two shoulder reconstructions in 9 months equaling the better part of 6 of the past 9 months in a sling. Checks BigFooty noting comments around his competitiveness and ability in clutch moments. Scratches head…

Two of the highest intensity matches back off some pretty serious surgery that would ordinarily have him back in about 2 weeks time and there’s people doubting the club? * me we’re an entitled bunch! The difference between Lipinski and the “replacements” currently at VFL level is that his running capacity and skill will put him in positions to influence in those clutch situations whereas the others won’t. That delivery to setup Adams goal or that flying shot (should have given hands to Naicos) there’s no chance Macrae/ Bianco/ Carmichael are putting themselves in those positions for various reasons.

The clutch stuff will come with confidence in his body and further game time. We’re better with him in the best 22 and it amazes me how quickly people either forget or turn on our own…

if yesterdays game from Lipinski is better than Macrae and co can dish up they should be delisted at years end.

I don’t know if delisting them is the answer, but I’m supremely confident they would have performed worse than Lipinski yesterday. Those VFL guys aren’t currently up to it hence being ok VFL types who aren’t banging down the door through weight of performance and why a guy like Lipinski coming off a significant period out of the game is immediately preferred at senior level.

I think we need Lipinski’s delivery inside 50m. Another game of passing it to May and Lever doesn’t appeal. That kick across his body to set up a goal was exactly what he and Sidebottom do regularity despite lacking pace, and they go the same speed all game long.

At the very least you’d give him the next three of Suns/Dogs/Dockers and see where he’s at before the road trip to play Port.

I very much enjoyed the win. It doesn’t mean I can’t be concerned about Lipinski’s poor form and decision making, which is supposedly a strength of his. Nor share that opinion on a football forum for wider feedback.
All good brother. We all have opinions.
For me he was average and killer the previous week.
Fly knows best

Yep. He's getting to where he's meant to and getting the footy - just got to re-adjust to the frenetic speed. He's not doing that in the VFL. If he hasn't adjusted within the next month - then it's time to be asking some questions.

He has been woefully out of form this season since returning fumbling, timid, burning the ball and all round struggling.
Forget a good game he has barely played a good quarter, should be dropped and made to re earn his spot.

He had a great debut year for us but how long does a season buy you, clearly Ginnivan it only lasted about 3 weeks....Lippas form has been worse then Ginni had produced before he got axed.

Is a liability atm.

Lipinski was 1st/2nd in score assists for Collingwood last season..

He made a few mistakes yesterday late in the game but I think his ball use going inside 50 is sorely needed.

A few hysterical responses on here today
I cannot believe I am watching the same game at times. Lipinski was a good contributor and like every player will have good and average games. So many seem to have a gripe against certain players and just pounce at the first mistake as evidence of their spudliness. It is ridiculous.

I thought he struggled early, but as the game wore on his ability to keep getting to contests was really important.

He worked into the game quite nicely. I thought he was better by hand than plenty of teammates.

The notion that he was timid is off the mark by a long way.

It’s the ground balls he’s timid in.
Maybe its the shoulder he’s protecting - not sure.

I'm not sure about timid, but his commitment to the footy below his knees is questionable. He fumbles them an incredible amount

What gripe did people have against Lippa? None nearly everyone have been fans of his, when players struggle for form people will call it out.
He's been shit this year, that's just blunt truth.
