Its very poor form not to sign autographs.

As they were saying on radio. In 2005 Eagles players hung around for about a hour signing autograpgs. In 2009 Geelong fans hung around for about 2 hours signing autographs. St Kilda players didnt actually leave until everyone else left in 2010.

Its just common courtesy to hang around and support those who supported you. Its inexcusable for mine.

Well good on west coast. Aren't they just the best!!

Not sure this point scoring is really necessary, you have no right to speak about the circumstances which led to some here missing out.

where were the thousands that were in Fremantle? sorry..3000 people showing up is a disgrace! it's sad people could not get to the game, but where was their support when it really counted??

Its not always easy to look someone in the eye after you feel like you have let them own.
I suggest the layers demeanour at the airport and the welcome wouldn't be because they don't care about the fans and our support. Quite the opposite, they don't feel worthy of it right now.

Well said!!

And if they read and of the shit being posted on here about trading players and throwing rocks, I wouldn't blame them in the slightest for not wanting to sign autographs!!

Get a grip people!!

Good we have you around to tell us how poor Freo is.

Actually it's not...Take a hike and go and bash Fyfe n some more threads on the main board.
Cheers

Your opinion means nothing on here.

Lucky we all value our playing group for putting on multiple open training sessions throughout the year for photos and signatures.

I really think the most appropriate place for the players to have met the supporters should have been Fremantle Oval. It should never have been Subiaco oval. That is where they train and is there home. There would have been a greater response if it had been there.

think they were hoping for bigger crowds than Fremantle Oval could cater for...would have been a much better venue in hindsight

Its more then my opinion btw. On Sunday 90% of calls on talkback radio were with Freo fans disappointed in the players lack of embrace to the fan base. As I said it is entirely against the norm for a side of a losing GF in front of a 2-5kish crowd to just up and leave without heading down to ground level and hanging out with those who trekked. Thats not a opinion. That is fact.

Embers, We don't want your opionion on here.

Freo players are going against the norm. They are the ones on the high horse. They are the ones too busy to spend 1 hour signing autographs for people who most likely waited 1 hour+ to support them. If there was 20k+ there and a security risk I can understand but that wasnt the problem

They just couldnt be assed

You failed to mention what happened at Subiaco Oval in 2006. West Coast fans, many with their kids waited for 3 hours for the team to arrive and when they finally did turn up they just waved at the crowd with dark sunnies on and then left. It was all over in 20 minutes with no autograph signing or crowd interaction.

The club was flooded with calls from irate Eagles claiming fans that they were disrespected after waiting so long to support the team.

The official response from the club was, "The boys had a big night celebrating and it was a long flight home. Most of them hadn't been to bed as yet. I think our fans will understand that, the boys had just won a flag after all."

I would be disappointed if we were out there celebrating given our missed opportunities in the game. 44 inside 50s to 45 with 22 scoring shots a piece.

We lost by 15 points.

To quote Reece Bobby from Talladega Nights, "If you're not first your last!"

And those supporters are selfish and need to to a hard look at themselves!!

Interesting, to me that's even worse!

Probably coming down off the gear, I wouldn't feel like doing much either.
