Yea & Henry was just starting to really blossom as the second type while Acres had the first down Pat. Now we start from scratch again, again.
I think perhaps the club prepared a bit more for the possibility of Henry leaving. Although NOD’s drop off is concerning. Stanley got a taste and Matty Johnson played a bit there as well. Also looks as though Sharp will come in and more line breaking long kicking wingman.

I agree losing Langdon/BHill together was not good for list management and then losing BAcres and now Henry back to back equally bad.

It was great to see Henry come on and develop but I feel of all the four he is the most replaceable and we should get a decent return in the same sort of value as Langdon as far as trade is concerned. Henry lacks depth in his kicking, his composure under pressure is still not great and whilst good fitness and skin folds is very light and easily pushed off the ball. He is more like BHill, whereas Sharp more like Acres.

What is needed is for NOD to have a massive preseason like the one he had in the lead-up to 2022 season. We need him in form and in the selection frame.

Couldn’t agree more, NODs fitness and form slump this year has really hurt us as he was the logical replacement for Acres. Having all of Sharp, NOD, Johnson and Stanley competing for the 3 wing spots should drive them all to be better.

He was really good last week, him and Wilson
Both Coyler and Nathan Wilson will play in the peel grand final if fit enough.

It would be very good to see Peel win their 3rd WAFL flag after 2016 and 2017. Theres a couple of blokes left from the 2017 side that played in the prelim final last week.

Saying that, I wont be fussed if east freo win.

SPP has more athleticism for mine and genuine burst / explosiveness. Tholstrup is weirdly vanilla. Of course, if Walls likes him, I'll completely flip and back him in
We are talking about Sam Powell Pepper are we?

Yep he would of been handy for freo right now. Could of used that pick 8 on him but chose Griffin Logue instead.

Saw Sam Powell pepper do damage on us when Port beat us in Perth. 187cm inside mid with some muscle. Worked well on a forward flank.

Had a shocker in the semi final vs GWS with 9 disposals. thats mainly because the GWS back line had an excellent game.

Why not? Let's hope he's the most replaceable. But we're going need someone who has a good knowledge of where to run and provide options to link up or back up. It'll be tricky to find someone who's as clean collecting the ball and operates in close traffic so well. Hopefully in that package we've got someone who can frequently choose good options to drive attacking plays.

Yes, the Sam who's friends are the sort to show up to the preseason game against the Eagles and yell racist comments at the players.

He is exactly where he needs to be.

I heard his sister spent time in jail for assaulting an elder person. She was on bail for stealing Alcohol in a Bottle shop too.

Brayshaw would have all that and more. If we get Fyfe back next year, Brodie gets fit plus if Johno and Ras come on more we are going to be flush with midfield options. Maybe we push Brayshaw out to be that skinny side winger involved in most of the stoppage play while Sharp / Noddy / Stanly etc battle it out for the fat side (old Acres roll) of staying wide and running back and forth for defence/ wide attacking options.

We're going to have to do something. Don't know if Brayshaw to wing would be my first choice. He'll be able to bring elements, but I think he's better in amongst it more. If that was to be an option, he'll be working at it in the preseason.

I would prefer Andrew Brayshaw starting on a wing if I am an opposition coach, it makes him far, far easier to take out of the game. You can play a guy like Karl Worner on him and simply direct him to tag. You've just taken out one of the best and high impact players for the Dockers with a rookie selection player you don't want getting much of the ball.

But if you play him starting on the inside now you need to put a player on him who is at the least experienced in stoppage plays, or he will get lost in the traffic and you're a player down, or is one of your own preferred stoppage options and hope that the head to head in the stoppages breaks even and your player can run with him on the outside.

Brayshaw is far more effective for us starting on the inside and working outside, what he needs are big bodies in the middle to feed him in the ball via handball to then run it out or move it to a kicking player who will deliver it.

It is no surprise that he was the MVP when he had Brodie/Mundy working the ball out to him and then either kicking it himself or giving it back to Mundy to kick instead.

... you can see why figuring out a way to strip the effectiveness of Brodie was how you also got Brayshaw too.

Very random question. I am in Adelaide for work for the weekend. Would anyone know a pub that would show the wafl grand final?
Very unlikely tbh, SANFL GF would clash with it for a half or so

7plus would stream it, if you can convince a Pub to somehow hook that up and swap locations

otherwise its AFL App

IMG_6487.jpeg Putting this in the appropriate thread. Felt kind of out of place in the ‘best burger and banh Mi’ thread…

My son’s a huge East Freo supporter. He found this ripper in cashies the other day for $25. He’s ready for the WAFL GF tomorrow. As a lifelong South’s supporter, this gave me a good laugh that a sharks guernsey was languishing in cashies waiting for some sucker to come along and waste their hard-earned on it.
But seriously - good find for him, and an omen perhaps?
