Pick 19 it is. Just what they need.I can see him going top 20 easily.
Mature body too could play R1 easily next year on the half forward flank

I just dont see anything in Tholstrup that screams AFL player tbh. He's already a bigger body but there's no x-factor or stand out trait that I see suiting AFL. Not a top 20 pick for mine, pick 30+Jeez I thought Tholstrup looked really good.
He looked far better than the likes of Nod (who is 3 years older), good decision maker and a good all round game. I can see him going top 20 easily.

Yep. Heard them talk him up as a first round pick, and I was like, the what?I just dont see anything in Tholstrup that screams AFL player tbh. He's already a bigger body but there's no x-factor or stand out trait that I see suiting AFL. Not a top 20 pick for mine, pick 30+
Good observation. I forgot about Clay. StrangeYep. Heard them talk him up as a first round pick, and I was like, the what?
Granted I’ve only seen him twice, but legit was slow and poor disposal.
Rather clay hall, who has been hidden back in the reserves it seems. Showed a lot during his run at peel seniors
SPP has more athleticism for mine and genuine burst / explosiveness. Tholstrup is weirdly vanilla. Of course, if Walls likes him, I'll completely flip and back him inI haven't watched him but Tholstrup sounds like SPP to me. He'll be a 200 game player but likely not an a-grader.
Yeah but who cares what geelongs recruiter thinks, what about if walls backs him in ?SPP has more athleticism for mine and genuine burst / explosiveness. Tholstrup is weirdly vanilla. Of course, if Wells likes him, I'll completely flip and back him in
Beat me to it, there is not enough praise on here for his game. He was close to every bit as good as Hamling for mine and he was on the far better playerSnuffaluphagus Your boi starting to show to serious traits. Sokol shut down and peeled off to incept mark on multiple occasions.
I guess we will have to wait and see. I had not seen him play a full game before today. I thought the majority of his 15 touches were impactful and positive. He seems to have clean hands and good kicking skills.I just dont see anything in Tholstrup that screams AFL player tbh. Got through the game tonight after being out today.
Hamling: Was awesome back there. Stopped everything but he had some help...
Davies: I feel like not enough is being made of this kid. His growth this year has been ridiculous. He completely pantsed Sokol today and the best case for his growth is just watching the rest of his games against Subi. Kid is a natural born defender and if he fixes his kicking a little bit (his composure and decision making is actually elite), he will be an incredible defender, I'm sure of it.
Reidy: Clarke is the best ruck not on an AFL list in Australia and he held his own. I have concerns on his impact elsewhere but he has improved his ruckwork a lot this year
Wilson/Colyer: Good to see these two back to their best, go get a flag next week fellas.
Emmett: Dude is still an enigma and I've been big on him since the start. His kicking can be atrocious but everything else he does is AFL level which I suppose is why his two games were so good.
Brodie: Got into 4th gear today which was good to see, can still be better at this level
Corbett: The stint at AFL did his confidence a world of good, playing very good WAFL footy now.
Noddy: Close to invisible, needs to change his body shape considerably IMO.
Worner: Like has been said a few times, looks a WAFL player, I have similar concerns with him as I do Tholstrup but the athleticism is actually a further step below
Wagner: Great game, a speedy dude who makes good decisions and runs towards the goals will get AFL gigs
I wont give Brodie a pass unless he's clear BOG, which off last year, he should be. Definitely better this week though.I thought Brodie really got to work. Two weeks ago he looked lazy and today he was chasing as best he could. He had a couple of run down tackles.
Everything Emmett touched turned to s**t, he had a game he’d rather forget aside from that goal in the 4th quarter. Noddy similar, though I thought he had more good moments IMO.
Worner I thought was better than you made out. Took some intercept marks and was involved in some corridor play.
Otherwise agree with your assessment.

2 questions:
- Does Hugh look like he can play both as a key and a medium defender? We need to develop a key back for the medium to long term future, but for him to get games in the short term you'd think he either needs some of our KPDs to be injured or to be versatile enough to play smaller.
- What do you see NOD's best position as? It seems like in a perfect world he should be playing some inside midfield time (and hence should look to get significantly bigger, which he said is a goal of his), but wing is obviously the more open slot for him, and run and carry type wingers in particular tend to be more slightly built. Though conversely, you can have the Acres type of winger who has great running capacity to get free and impact contests, but isn't a run and carry type.
Oh, I thought he was a powerful player... what are his strengths? Heard conflicting reports.SPP has more athleticism for mine and genuine burst / explosiveness. Tholstrup is weirdly vanilla. Of course, if Walls likes him, I'll completely flip and back him in
Key defender. He looks like a skinnier Joel Hamling.Does Hugh look like he can play both as a key and a medium defender?
That's a fair effort. Hammer would have to be the skinniest KPD in the AFL.Key defender. He looks like a skinnier Joel Hamling.
Hamling was standing right in front of me half of the game and I was surprised how strong he looked. Certainly a lot more solid than the last time I saw him up close. That was probably late last year. That's a fair effort. Hammer would have to be the skinniest KPD in the AFL.
