Prone to a brain fade though, he had one in the third (I think) where he was on the half back line with a mark, turned in board and just kicked it, went straight to an east Perth player and there was no peel player within 10 or 15 metres, I genuinely had to rewind to check what he was trying to do

Anyway the east Perth player ran into an open goal and missed, so it didn't hurt us
The half back looking to go central turnover I’m thinking over was in the second (Peel kicking to left of screen / tech school end)… thought Davies more than redeemed himself though legging it back when the interceptor dished it off before taking a very solid contested mark in the goal square… no score

Ah going off memory I thought they missed and that's why it wasn't a goal

Still have no idea what he was doing with the kick tho

He did the odd strange kick. There was a really short kick from the defensive goal square in the third. Barely went 3metres. I think he might have shinned it. It ended up in a stoppage but he genuinely tries to do a smallish kick on the last line of defence.

I’m quite positive about what I’ve so far. He is improving every week.

So guys, based on current form, is Treacy getting a call up? Also, really interested in Sebby Kuek. Is he getting any better? (Or bigger).

Seb got on the end of a couple of nice i50 passes from Treacy.

Seb is inconsistent but does stuff that makes you really sit up and take notice. They were well beaten by South’s a couple of weekend’s ago but he did this fancy sidestep and left players falling over and danced his way through traffic and almost kicked a long goal from around 50. He kicked 4 goals the weekend before that. Only kicked 2 and both were in the last qtr against East Perth. Barely sighted for the first 3 quarters. He is still fairly skinny but did manage to out body his opponent on one occasion.

I enjoy watching him. Very laconic kicking action but if he can get more involved he will be fun to have in the AFL side. Personal opinion only but he is well down the pecking order for this year.

As for Treacy. He played a cracking game and took a number of very good contested marks. The most pleasing thing about his game though was his ball use and i50’s. He doesn’t stand and wait, plays on and used great composure. I would have him as one of the ins for the Hawks game (yes ahead of Corbett). I reckon that game was exactly what they are looking for from Treacy - aside from missing a couple of easy set-shots on goal. He does create some pressure as well. Which is more than what Banfield adds.

Treacy didn’t perform at all in round 1. Got chosen based on good PS form. He then had a stinker against Saints. Dropped an absolute soda inside 50early in the game and then seemed to be shot of any confidence. He needs to get his swagger going and get up the ground.

I think Treacy would be close but they might want him to be truly smashing the door down before bringing him in. Corbett also seems to be slightly ahead and Fyfe returning makes it difficult.

Kuek I don’t think is quite ready for AFL despite his goals kicked and I’d question what they see his role as. He’s kind of like the purely deep version of Sturt

Kuek does some exciting things but he isn’t strong enough in the air for AFL level. He’s athletic but at 200cm or thereabouts he isn’t going to crumb it like a small forward despite his ability to do so being reasonably impressive for his height.

He’s got raw talent but not sure that’s enough at his age. I’d suggest that both Corbett and Treacy are a long way ahead.

With the need to draft a top KPF prospect he might be in trouble at season’s end imo. We’ll want Treacy, Corbett and the new prospect all developing at WAFL level - there may not be room for any other KPF.

Corbett is not "developing" at 27 years old. It was a strange pickup to me at the time, and still remains that way. I'd give him full games at AFL level and see how he goes for a while, but if JL doesn't want to do that while Taberner and Fyfe are injured and Treacy is out of favour, then I have no idea what the point was in bringing him over. Kuek might never make it, but at least he has more upside.

Development at the club has gone backwards. Even though we are losing and have no chance for finals.
The forward line has more options than ever before but at least Peel are
stronger.
I’m the same as you in why we have so many medium talls, yet Banfield is
preferred.
He should be sub, or have a run with role in the midfield.
It’s going to get worse if Fyfe is used forward.

Definitely bigger than he was a year ago. Not sure he's much better. He needs to be using his unique advantages more for mine. He's 2m, mobile with a great leap but we're not seeing it much.
He is what? 22. I don’t think he has the footy iq to be fair. Great leap and fast but doesn’t have the awareness to know when to use his gifts

True but he's not playing in the WAFL Reserves next season.

Also I'm baffled why he's on the outer so badly. He's actually proven he can play AFL in the past. We know he's no superstar but he'll give you a solid game each and every week.

What I forgot to add is that he's got a great kick! Long and accurate, and a good set shot routine.

I haven't noticed a lack of footy smarts but I agree that he's certainly not using his gift well and often enough. His age doesn't bother me, and obviously didn't bother our recruiters. He's raw and is at least showing something to work with - I'm not giving up on him just yet but he is a bit away from AFL level for sure.

I’m certainly not giving up on him yet. Been in a professional environment for less than a year. Hopefully we see him using his skills and impacting games more often once he has had more time in the system. We will see.

If Darcy misses, we could pick Treacy to help out Jackson in the ruck (sounds like the role he's been playing at Peel). Ins: Fyfe, Freddy, Wilson and Treacy.

I'd both be sad to have Darcy miss a game but excited to see what Jackson does as the main ruck and Treacy as the ruck/forward

I really hope we are lining worner up on the wing on Sunday

He isn't a great kick, not the strongest in the contest, not the fastest but jeez he can find the pill, it would be great for our winger's to just find the pill some more

Let him have 30 on the wing and give him a shot to replicate it at AFL

He will run all day, I think we can back him to find space on the wings just through work rate, last year we put acres on the wing and he willed himself to the ball, I think worner can replicate that to an extent, it's worth a crack to try and get the winger's involved in the game

If we can find some more link up on the wings then we can drive it further forward, our defense will be able to settle a bit more behind the ball and we can play the game a bit more in our forward half
